Honestly just watching you play got me through hardmode, tried all these bogus strategies and guides with materias and set ups and the like, but.. that's all just situational and specific, you have inspired me to just go back to good old fashioned hack and slash gameplay and beat everything's face in. This is true. Same thing i did. Got frustrated with all these builds on YT and died a hundred times. I eventually just learned to dodge, counter and hit when the opportunity comes ala devil may cry. No more gimicky builds just straight up fought Sephy like a real man and healed myself when needed. Beat him finally

Nothing short of pure gold. I struggled with this fight on dynamic difficulty so this video is nothing shy of mindblowing to me lolol

I mean, we fight his main form in rebirth and there's way too many changes in this game that appears before we are supposed to be at that part. I think it would be redundant to fight him a third time. They should make it to where he becomes good and they fight Weiss and Nero at their full strength. That's the only thing that makes sense to do at this point because of what they did to Sonon.

@josetomascamposrobledano4618 the jokes on you because Square Enix still hasn't fixed the can't stop won't stop sidequest and I already platinumed a whole bunch of games so if they make Sephiroth the final boss again, then I am simply not playing the third game. Already, the second game has drained me with all the minigames and Chadley stuff. If that's all Square Enix has to offer then I and many others are walking away. I done beat Sephiroth and honestly not even sure where Square Enix's heading anymore. After the ending though, they changed a lot before it was even supposed to happen. Plus, they said they were adding rocket town AFTER meeting Cid. At that point, why even bother? I am genuinely confused by the direction Square Enix is going with this game. That's why I came up with what I did.

I love that you can combo Sephiroth in this game. In Remake he would basically just eat almost any attack with no knockback. But here you can toss him around like a hackey sack lmao. Great run. By the way, I have an idea for a potential new challenge format. There's no-materia runs and full-materia runs, with no in between. That's why I propose: Limited materia runs. You allow yourself to use only limited amounts of materia, such as 6 or 8 or something like that. I see potential in this, because it encourages a lot of strategy. Are you gonna spend a slot on a Precision Defense Focus, or instead use a speed up? More things will be possible with this format than with no-materia, but it still provides ample challenge and encourages a lot of strategy with your materia choice.

All my materia maxed ive done nearly all the hard challenges bar like 3 of em and yeah i have it on just can't seem to get the timing i see its a binding move n maybe just panic n dont wait to see when the attacks actually coming and theres so many enemies that do em its just hard to tell when your engrossed in doing everything else at the same time too your defo good the cloud gameplay so satisfying in this game nice to see people that can actually play it good

I was stuck on this battle for a while because I forgot to put raise on and was super low mp when I got to it. I actually did a run where cloud died really quick and I got him to about 30% solo with Aerith my set up wasn't great but I am sure someone with better skills would be able to do it. Really well done, still waiting for someone to do the Aerith solo XD, naybe i'll give it another go, not sure how i'd deal with tempus finis, guess having wards up and 2 atb ready to blow him up as he does into it, rip no offensive limit

Amazing fight again, chapter 14 now and the jenova zombie give me headache. The camera zoom so close :( , do you have that battle recorded. One of the chain battles that i would like to use guide on it 😢

How do you time to block his attacks like that? Are you constantly hitting block button or you just hit button for first sword hit and it blocks the entire chain?

Perfect punisher block renders you immune to damage from parry till end of counter animation. I block his first sword attack and did nothing for the rest of the combo so that Cloud remains in the counter animation longer thus remains invulnerable to damage. I did not tap R1 at this point of time. You can cancel his punisher parry halfway by tapping R1 but if you timed it incorrectly, you will take some damage. So I just wait till Sephiroth lands his last combo where my punisher counter animation is about to end (when Cloud gets up and raise his sword) and tap R1 at that exact moment to nullify any incoming damage. Hope this answers your question

no t too sure tbh been wondering but i'd say from the feel of it, if the window is 200ms it changes 250 or even 300. definitely feels like a huge increase close to 50% or maybe 33%?

Depends on what sort of moves enemies use and the attack speed. I use Triangle and R1 depending on what mode I am in. If in operator, I use triangle to parry incoming attack. If in punisher, I just tap R1

Can u do a tutorial on the build

Yo how do you know if a red attack (!) can be parried? I saw you pressed triangle to parry his “Skewer”. I thought red attacks can’t be parried and need to be dodged 😅

By equipping level 3 Precision Defense Focus (PDF) materia. This allows you to parry bound move. Skewer is one of Sephy's bound move and with the said materia equipped you can parry it with correct timing. The red '!' ability that cannot be parried even with level 3 PDF materia are the non-binding moves like Errant Whisper for instance

It's kinda hard for me to explain coz I just go by feel and experience of the enemy's attack pattern so I sort of 'know' if I should stick with punisher parry or combo it together with Counterstance. One thing for certain is that punisher parry becomes useless if enemies start spamming range and magic attacks. This is the time Counterstance shines the most on top of its higher damage output

By having level 3 Precision Defense Focus materia equipped. If you timed your block perfectly, it will ignore bound move so that's how I can counter that move in question

How do you get so good at blocking? Specifically on enemies that you cant easily get to like Gilgamesh or sephiroth? Is there a strategy/tip or do you have save files for those or something? Im trying to get better, i can block titan almost perfectly, kujata a bit, but enemies like bahamut and gligamesh i cannot seem to get good at.

That takes a lot of practice. I also struggled figuring out the timing when I started. After pinning down the enemy's attack pattern and several trial and error, I just sort of 'feel' the timing. I no longer think consciously and it becomes a subconscious, muscle reflex action once it becomes second nature. Granted I still screw up once in a while

Jesus fucking Christ you are a monster! A lot of times when I'd use counters they wouldn't work on him. And his bs at the end with the auto kill. Maaaan. Was great to see him put in his place.

The Precision Defense materia, if mastered, lets you precision-block against otherwise unblockable attacks. I believe this extends to Cloud's Punisher and Counterstance parries as well.

It gives you Bravery and Faith as well, it doesn’t last as long as the versions from the Empowerment materia though.

Yes skewer is one of his binding move. Max level precision defense focus allows you to negate bound move if you time your block/parry correctly. Non-binding unblockable moves will ignore precision defense focus

@@cloudcs I see, it's kind of funny because it's a little misleading since it's still a sword attack, but since his sword is impaling you and you're stuck in place it's technically binding lol. It's a great attention to detail. I'm glad precision defense still doesn't work on other unblockable attacks, the combat is more varied when you require multiple defensive options instead of just parrying everything.

Yes it is possible with no limit already tested/ done it u just need to have pressure like 1 hit from stagger or 1 ability, but then again i was doing it with materia so i wasnt killing him as fast as you are 😆

Depends on your personal playstyle. If you prefer playing with magic Rune Blade is the right fit. Want to build your Cloud as an ATB machine that hits hard with physical attack and doesn't compromise too much on magic? Sleek Saber is the beast. Want the hybrid style? Buster Sword and, arguably, Umbral Blade, can get the job done. Want to build your limit faster or you casts a lot of debuff on enemies? Igneous Saber will do the job. Crit build? Crystal Sword is your friend.

I saw a video of Optinoob where he just stands in front of him and he stagger himself alone...I don't know what hell happens

It grants bravery and faith upon application, greatly boosting physical and magic damage by a significant amount. Stack it with Prime Mode berserk Cloud turns into a killing machine lol

@@cloudcs Here’s my thoughts. I’m pretty sure she is dead in one timeline but alive in the other. But at the end of rebirth it looks like the timelines DID merge. And Sephiroth was successful. Now specifically the people who were victims of Sephiroth’s timeline merge stuff during the final boss of rebirth (Zack, Aerith, Cloud) are able to see the timeline rip in the sky. Aerith died in Cloud’s timeline because the whispers undid Cloud’s deflect of the masamune. Just like how they undid Barrett’s death in remake, barrett wasn’t supposed to die, so they revived him. Aerith lived but was destined to die, so the whispers made sure her fate remained the same. But the Aerith from Zack’s universe is still alive, and is presumably the one we see at the end of the game (The Aerith in this final battle with Sephiroth is the Aerith that died, this is just her spirit helping Cloud.) The rest of the party can’t see the living Aerith because she’s in a different timeline. Just like how they can’t see the crack in the sky. But Cloud can. And Cloud can see this living version of Aerith in this timeline. Basically, the events happening in one timeline are happening in the other timelines (Aerith being present vs not, but both happening concurrently, she is both there for Cloud but and not there for anyone else) And also based on Sephiroth casting meteor in the final battle in Zack’s timeline, it’s safe to say that most of the timelines were eradicated by Sephiroth casting meteor EXCEPT in our timeline.

I don't understand why they are changing the storyline, bizarre Sephiroth only shows in the end of ff7 before you face the final form of Sephiroth. Instead they put already his transformation, really I don't know what they are thinking. And in the sleeping forest after you passed and enter in Forgotten city you don't explore and face the enemies that appeared on classic, you just literally jumped to the part where Aerith is praying and Sephiroth come etc. And suddenly Bizarre Sephiroth appear after Genova fight, Genova is supose to be the last Boss to conclude the first part of the Disc.

@@cloudcs one thing is making a Ff7 Remake following the steps and storyline, other thing is twist the story and put an enemy that shouldn't supose to show up right now. Look the example of Resident Evil 1 Remake by Capcom, Shinji Mikami when made that Remake he didn't twist or stay far from the storyline, on contrair e he remained everything on that game and add new places and new defense mechanic without ruining the storyline of the game and that's why is still continue saying is 1 of the best remakes because is loyal to the first RE1 game classic. This is an example of a good Remake.
