FetHead Phantom - A Useful Preamp for Condenser Microphones

The TritonAudio FetHead Phantom can provide 18db of clean gain to condenser microphones.
In this video, I explain the benefit of using this microphone adapter and perform a series of audio tests to show how the adapter can help. I recommend using headphones or good speakers to hear the difference in audio.

Alright Kevin. Cool video mate. When you’re trying positions for your 416, try it pointing straight down over your head. I think I mentioned this during your last live video. It sounds mad, but when indoors things like shotguns or very focused cardioids can sound better in odd positions. My ME64 sits pointing straight down above me, maybe just slightly in front of me in line with my brow and nose, but straight down or a very slight angle. This position is good for a clean frame and if you frame yourself close to the top of your frame, you get the mic closer. My mic ends up about 10 inches or so above me, which is close enough to get a very good signal and to try and help with room reflections, my room at the moment is a bed room that’s very reflective. I first positioned liked this with my MKH60 which was a super and also realised that it helped massively because I talk with my hands :) Seriously, I can’t do shit with a mic in front of me because I’m like a child, all over the place and banging stuff :) Cheers, Dave.

Can I just say, as a not so huge fan of unboxings, reviews and podcasting, I found this very helpful, enjoyed it a lot and most of all, my dear, the audio quality boost threw me of my chair. Deffo worth watching for those

I have one for my NT1. Helps with my Zoom's noisy preamp. I definitely need to grab the Zoom H6.

Ciao, I also have an active ribbon mike, Golden Age R1 MK3, it has a builtin preamp using the phantom voltage as its power suplly. Is it possible and zero risk to use this Triton model with this active ribbon ('cause its preamped output isn't so high..) to get a stronger and clearer output signal ? Thanks much, Ciao

I own the Rode NTG4 + condenser microphone. It can be operated via phantom power via a preamp or via the internal battery.

I have the GOXLR mini with a RODE podmic, do you think it would be worth getting a Fethead to increase the gain?

If I use the fethead phantom can I also get benefit of the quiet gain boost by using it on a dynamic mic? Or will the dynamic mic reject the fethead all together due to phantom? I'm trying to learn if I need to buy a regular fethead when recording with dynamic mics And a fethead phantom for condensers. I'd rather save money IF the phantom version still works for the dynamics also.
