    Very solid, cool, usable, unique, sub-$30 mic!! Impressive effort, too-- there were at least 2 or 3 "that's what she said's" that you sacrificed for the pacing of this tutorial... You're always willing to let it slide in order to please us and get us off sooner 👍

    I really enjoy these mic mod videos. I'd be really curious to hear a BM800-type mic with the mic-parts capsule. I think the mic-parts guy recommends the Sterling one for that mod as having a decent body and circuit and a pretty bad capsule that would give the maximum benefit for a capsule swap.

  • @ObscureMics

    Explain that again. Mod a sterling mic or use sterling parts for a bm800?

  • @enriquekahn9405

    @enriquekahn9405

    2 жыл бұрын

    @@ObscureMics I guess I didn't write very clearly mic-parts sells a medium diameter capsule that will fit a lot of inexpensive mics such as the BM-800 and similar mics. They claim it will radically improve the mics. On review of their page I mistook "Sterling" and "Scarlett." The owner of mic-parts recommends the Scarlett/Focusrite CM25 as a mic that will particularly benefit from that capsule swap as the body is decent and the circuitry isn't terrible but it has a tiny capsule. The capsules in question are $10 each but sold in pairs so $20 for two is the minimum order. They also sell a circuit kit but it's a lot more expensive and involved and I think at that point you might as well get a factory made mic.
