Bosch 12” cordless pro factor compound miter saw has a variable speed motor. There are 4 different speeds, the slowest being “eco mode” with a no load speed of 2550 rpm. Mode 1 is 3000 rpm, mode 2 is 3500 rpm, and mode 3 is 4000 rpm. It’s a great saw but love to see this Festool saw in person. Great review, thank you!

I was a little worried about installing the blade after reading a couple of reviews. But it was amazingly easy. Took about 1 minute. Works great kzread.infoUgkxjpBI8OOeUXib_iT7UomCrQ-uauwZJ62c . Cuts easily and is perfect for pocket cuts I needed to make for replacing some old deck boards.

For a 1000 dollar saw they should have incorporated the bevel feature from the 120

The saw can work with one battery. I'd say the verable speed colour chart on the saw matches the colour saw blade in the saw. For example your saw has a yellow saw blade, so set the speed that matches it on the chart

Makita GSL02Z goes 4,800 RPM and is this saws closest competition. Personally I prefer the Makita and couldn’t justify the $300+ premium for the Festool.

Mine won’t hold at the 30 degree bevel tilted to the left , I crank it all the way down as tight as I can but the weight of the batteries(I think) won’t let it hold there , any one else’s having this issue ? Other than that I’m loving it

Hikoki has Bluetooth batteries to make all older tools compatible with their aws/Bluetooth vacuums. They're only available in Europe, Asia, Pacific though. Makita, instead of having a Bluetooth battery, has a Bluetooth adapter that goes in the battery slot, and the battery goes onto the adapter, making all older tools(XGT 40v only, I believe) compatible with their aws/bluetooth vacuums.

I have the older kapex 120. I found it difficult what you said early in the video regarding the older kapex had motor issues? The motor on my kapex has been fine. Although I find the accuracy on tilt cuts not as good as I want them to be. Going by the price on the 60 kapex here in Australia is around 30% more expensive than the saw I bought. My saw cost around $1,600 whereas the kapex 60 cost around $2,500 that's in Aud. Australian currency.

IIRC, it was 2019 and prior Kapex 120 that could have motor problems. From what I remember, Festool warrantied those.

@@toolcurve Sorry for the late reply as I seen the notification just now. When you mention issues in USA, Could it have been because your volts are low at 110 volts ? In Australia the voltage is 240. Thanks for the reply.

@@toolcurve I can confirm. The motor on my Festool saw died right after the warranty expired. To repair the saw it cost $600 and having to haul it myself to Indiana instead of shipping it which was too expensive because! not covered by warranty. They should have WAY more service centers across US. I used the saw once after I fixed it then got it stolen from me. New Festool saw runs fine though. The motor was their fault but never admitted or made amends. Who is the sucker? This saw definitely should have the bevel lever in the front for this price. Don’t buy Festool unless you have a passion for tools 2 or three time the price of other brands. The only tools worth it for carpentry are the dominos and the rotex sander. Even the track saw can be challenged by Makita. And don’t get me started on the tracks for the saw or the cover bag, which makita is more padded and cheaper. And that’s just one small example.
