    For those offended by me saying that you can only win a fence if you’re a professional trim carpenter, please understand this - I’m not insulting homeowners and DIY, of course you could still use this fence and find great value in it. But the inventor of the fence wanted to make sure it got to somebody who would use it everyday. A production trim carpenter will be super blessed by this! Hope that clears up any misunderstanding 😃

    I wasn’t offended. Giving to a person that will get the most out of it makes sense to me. Do I want to win it? Heck yes! But knowing it will go to someone that needs it is more important. It’s not the wants that matter, it’s the needs.

    Sweet design. We cut massive crown regularly, and the sliding fence stop would be a game changer. We've always used a more traditional handmade plywood stop, but sometimes the crown is so big that the stop gets slid out over the miter button on our D780, making it next to impossible to access. This looks like the ticket.

    i am genuinely interested for how this festool mitre saw compares in detail to the latest top-of-the-line makita mitre saw. although (personally) on a budget i can only afford a cheap-ish $200 level tool. and these ones cost at least 2-3x or higher. but i think it's worth it to know what the improvements are, and in what specific places on the tool. where the value is, and for what benefits seperately for the fence... there is that mag-safe guy who also did make some cool looking fence too. but i cannot remember his name now. but he is another youtuber carpenter person. very interesting these 3rd party fences and i agree well worth upgrading. then again the same question for the budget $200 saw whether its worth also doing a fence upgrade since surely those also isn't going to have such a good fence at the even lower price points... then perhaps could take the fence with you when upgrading to a new mitre saw. so this stuff... idk. all i know is that i definately need a mitre saw. just like everybody else for the general home and a variety of common diy projects. and making custom little furniture or fitted pieces etc.

    @ibarskiy

    6 ай бұрын

    It’s a bit different but I think I prefer that (not that you asked me). One important thing you don’t lose with FastCap is the pivot point because for DeWalt at least it goes on top of the short factory fences vs sitting in front. The saws are designed with that pivot point as the reference when you turn them, so you lose that by putting this fence on the front of the factory fence. This definitely has more functionality though.

    #1) I'm not commenting to win the fence. #2) I love your channel and have followed you for a long while (since way before you were famous, lol). I am old enough to be your mom and you remind me greatly of my youngest son (Colin) who went to heaven in 2022. He was really funny (like you); really talented (like you) in a different field. (Actually, you look alike. We used to tell him about the KZreadr who resembled him.) He was a restoration specialist out of Boston for historical finishes. Brent would have loved him (they may have known each other? Not sure). #3) Anyway, I also do restoration, but of furniture and architectural components (such as doors). I love wood craft, but I'm limited. What I WANTED to tell you is, when you're explaining a process I begin to hear all the words and then it turns into "Sapitae owper uewao a ealg;ag".... LOL. But, I am totally fascinated with your knowledge, skill and basic talent. Thank you SO much for always making me laugh. So tonight or sometime soon, have one on Colin and toast him in heaven. 🥰
