It's a robot cuttlefish! I love this company so freaking much. Beautifully shot and scored video. That rippling silicone is so neat, and so is the skull design.

What I like best is the simplicity of their engineering.

That is very nice! Effective, Elegant, Robust and Simple. I can see so many potential applications, for this. Great Presentation!

Actually their bread winner is pneumatic valves, cylinders, regulators, tubes, fittings and other industrial lego. The bionic stuff is more of a side hobby with almost no practical value. Well, PR and advertisement is practical in some sense I guess. They got the elephant nose robot out of the program, but I have no idea if it is actually selling all that well, probably not. Soft jawed grippers are another thing of practical value, but they are not all that impressive a concept really. But the robot birds and fish and whatnot, while fun and pretty, they are still just toys.

apexCode Graphen ist ein beeindruckender Werkstoff, das stelle ich nicht in Frage. Wo genau sollen aber die Einsatzgebiete sein, bei denen Festo Graphen verwendet? Ich denke nicht, dass ein Einsatz der Technologie (und damit die vorhergehende Forschung) wirtschaftlich realisierbar sind. Bevor es soweit kommt, gibt es noch viele andere spannende und vor allem wirtschaftlich nutzbare Technologien, die besser zum Unternehmen passen.

sit1712 Da es nicht gesteuert wird, sondern sich selbst einen Weg bahnt, wird es in einem freien Gewässer einfach dahin schwimmen, solange es nicht in die Nähe eines Hindernisses kommt.

А мне кажется это плагиат. Есть российский изобретатель-пенсионер, который сделал подобный движитель для модели вездехода, но с финансированием у него вышли проблемы и дело не пошло. Конструкция примерно та же. Тоже гибкая мембрана с изгибами. Но ролик топовый у Вас, этого не отнять. )
