Festivalero - Jason Gianni

Музыка

Newly recorded at the end of 2021, drummer Jason Gianni plays along with his drum track for Venezuelan Joropo band, Compasses, for their amazing song 'Festivalero.' Initially recorded as a side-by-side demo video last year, the song was officially recorded recently and here is a finished play-along video. This is a very interesting combination of traditional Venezuelan Joropo (harp, maracas, bass and the two stringed-instruments, bandola and cuatro) mixed with very modern progressive arrangements by the members of Compasses.

Is this a Dream Theater - dance of eternity cover? Homage? Or is it just in my head?

This is a very unison piece. Each drum hit is also a note hit almost exactly every single time. I wouldn’t be surprised if this was composed on an electronic drum set, it sounds a bit like triggers on a v-drum patch. Thorough playing, nicely executed.

Everything sound super! But there is one suspicious thing at 1:35 notice how the sound is of a china (is right there) but he hits the crash instead i think.

Looks almost like the this was recorded slower and then sped up. The movements look very odd.

@@alkingborn4620 you have a very small but active imagination. Please tell me what have I said to indicate that you might say the same to me, and what would be your point in saying that to me? You’re calling this guy one of the worst drummers on the globe, which is an EXTREME take. Worst means most bad. Bad means the opposite of capable. He managed to hit a drum for every note that was played in this video in unison with it, despite no site reading, no copied sections, and while using metric modulation and dynamics. There’s also no loss or rush in tempo, no clanging sticks together, no shouting while playing, and no unnecessary overplaying in this video. Your words mean nothing but pathetic, desperate contradiction.

He's not an exceptional drummer but to say he's the worst is an exaggeration. There are a lot of horrible drummers out there, "professional" and not. This guy at least play in tempo. I've played with drummers who have a solid grip and good tone but are terrible at timming. The timbre of this drums is not the best, I think that may have helped your judgement.
