Love the skill of these guys . Always amazes me to see something go together like this .The music kind of lulls you inot thinking this is easy work & they do make it look easy but anything done with cement is very labor intensive But my goodness this is something they can be proud of for the rest of their lives & willl do so much good at the same time

Am not an Italian architect but I really got exactly this idea for inexpensive guest houses to build on the island in Caribbean sea. Also I will need water tank there and thought to use this method. But this video is a bit discouraging. I have built sauna with walls made of CMU's and with arched roof made of rebars+metal mesh (1/4") ans just concrete mix from Home Depot. The most routine is wire-tighting rebars and mesh.

No mention of a pozzolan added to the mortar, like fly ash or DE, that means this is ferro concrete, NOT ferrocement which is a hot mix 2-1 with 15% of the fine sand replaced with a pozzolan, for boats a few grams of trioxide is also added to stop galvanic reaction causing bubbles/pockets in mortar..Also with ferrocement it is critical that the plaster is only 2- 3 mm thick over the last coat or cracking will result, nice tank all the same..not sure how it holds water because concrete is porous....here we use Ferrocement with fly ash..

Is it easy to repair pressure cracks?

So how has the tank performed these couple of years later??

What will be the cost of this project and time taken for completion.... What about getting a big industry grade sintex tank.

Good. But I would like to see the tank in action when full and see if { they get away with cement wall being laid after floor cement has dried {somewhat}} ...and if water doesnt seep through the base. Also time lines of when to do what would have cemented the knowledge. But impressive and thanks for uploading.

3 to 1 sand to cement; no gravel but adding some chopped glass fiber reinforcement to the mix wouldn't hurt.

PVC pipe doesn't normally last long when exposed to sunlight. It can become very brittle. How are you dealing with that problem?

Cement dont create foul smell of water , i experience it in water steel barge that supply water to ship in anchorage . Barge internal wall are cement wash .
