Water being an essential resource for farming, its conservation and storage is a major concern for farmers. With an aim to provide water security to our rural population, Reliance Foundation has been promoting the construction and use of Ferro cement tanks for water storage.
Ferro cement tanks offer all the benefits of conventional RCC water tanks, minus all its hassles. They are economical, easy to build and require minimal skilled labour. These tanks are used across various sites where RF is working with rural communities to conserve water. Since, the light materials are easier to transport uphill, they are especially useful in hilly areas.
