I have the Ferris IS5100. It has the 33hp CAT. It's a beast. I use it to mow around the edges of fields, around the barns and lawn. I go through some heavy stuff from time to time with no trouble. I just don't see the need for that much horsepower in a lawnmower. And 36k now? When mine was new in 2009, you could get it for around 12 to 13k.

I absolutely agree that 33 horsepower is more than enough to run a 72-in deck. I have a Kubota diesel zero turn at 26 horsepower with a 60 inch deck and I can probably run a 72-in deck since I've never felt any significant lugging with it thus far

With such a big heavy duty expensive machine why is the deck not shaft driven?

The $30000 price will keep you in debt mowing the yard for the next 10 years.

This mower would be great for mowing state rite aways and exit ramps all day long. Very Lucrative commercial accounts

Does more horsepower even matter after a certain point? Blades, weather conditions, grass type, and cutting height are more important when it comes to quality.

Torque can help when going up moderate hills at full speed to keep blade rpm high at low full usage

Need a larger deck and also pto shaft no belts my old John Deere has a shaft and it’s a x 495 which is the new 750

I'd rather buy used with the Cat Diesel powering the mighty Ferris..... seen them under 6,500 1,000 or less hours. Your Welcome.

Why do you continue to have a fuel switch on your mowers instead of having both tanks drain at the same time?

Most company's do this for reserve purposes. Most mowers don't have a fuel guage so you have to switch it over if it does.

Honestly ferris I own a 72" ferris. But we need a larger cut or will buy the competition... 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️ Bigger deck not double hp/tourqe 🤦‍♂️

Was thinking the same. If the deck hit something at 12mph the mower would drive right over the deck before you could stop. What a site.

Cmon man, iit's a 48 hp diesel. My Ford 3930 has 45 hp pto and blows through 5ft wet elephant grass. Lets get real.
