Fence Line Hay Feeder, a "poly" better way!

We have finished the fence line feeder re design!
We had support from Century Products LLC on this and we are very pleased with how this has turned out!
The high use gravel pad is a must when incorporating this design as well as very strong and supportive wood posts.
We are happy to provide insight and support to you if you have questions in building a fence line feeder for your farm!
This video was shot over a couple of months as I worked on this project along with others around the farm. I will also point out that this feeder will hold two round bales (4x5). I will update comments on this feeder and how it holds up for the winter.
Please visit @Century Products LLC on Facebook to learn more of what they offer!
As always we are happy to have new followers and likes on KZread, Facebook, and Instagram ‪@mohawkvalleyherefords4860‬

I've owned 2 poly feeders since 2005 and they've been one of THE BEST INVESTMENTS along with Hay Chix Hay nets! These feeders are SO TOUGH, & EASY to move around, so you don't have to struggle with feeding in the MUD! It's saved me THOUSANDS of dollars in hay costs & without having to own a tractor to move them! I LOVE what you have invented with yours! Could you please explain how you made the gravel, high use, ground pad? Your idea is FANTASTIC!!! Im subscribing to see more, because I love folks like you who are practical and smart!

Three point tractor will back right in there! I have the poly wire with the handle, just unhook, and back right in with a bale!

That's an amazing idea! I wish I had this option as a kid when I was trudging through the mud and the muck feeding bales with a 9n ford. Good job!

If you cut the poly 6inches from poly post you could have attached this short end to wooden post as you did . The other end buy a length of the same poly post, bolt it to rails 6inches from end and attach to wooden post as before. That way you have more feeding length and not throwing any poly away. I can't quite understand your directions! I wish we could communicate and you could send a photo! You're suggestion sounds great, also. I think you must have done this with your own poly feeder. Maybe you'll send another explanation of your instructions!?❤

Put a gate behind it then your calves want climb into the feeder and get out. Just saying and I like the way it turned out. I know you have had a calf inside the feeder. Might save you some headache

I have a strand of hot there with a handle (acts as a gate), maybe you didn't see it? It works just as good, as my cattle are used to electric fence and are very calm. But, YES! Gate is a good idea and I have seen it before.

@@mohawkvalleyherefords4860 I'm planning on doing this very exact same thing and you made it easy for me when I came across your video It's amazing how little feeding space you lost by cutting the feeder. How far apart did you space your posts? Thank you!

Had the same setup years ago with my herefords, hot wire fence and all. Ended up putting 12 foot GREEN Cattle Panels, forget the brand, on each side of the posts where the hotwire attached to avoid the cattle from pushing each other into the hot wire to get to the hay feeder. Something to think about to avoid getting them hurt or into your hot wire fence.
