I agree 100 % enjoy feeding the fish and seeing grandkids and their friends come over and catch bass and blueguill. It is very relaxing to just look across the pond and enjoy nature and God's handwork!

Bluegill & Pumpkinseed in my pond are growing and putting on weight. The proper feed is key to this success. I feed twice daily early am and early evening & never miss a day. A 10-12 " bull is not uncommon in my pond. It brings joy to my heart and soul to watch and catch theses beautiful fish !

We were broke when I was a kid but my favorite thing, When I was little was the food we got from bread boxes that we couldn't eat because it was moldy or hard. I take it to my neighbor's pond and throw it in there and watch the bluegill turn it all over like piranhas. It was fun to watch. Ya'll ever been to a natural pond and spit in the water to see if they're bitin'?

Based on what I've seen, heard, read, etc., a pond holding bluegill needs to have some bass and a few catfish also, to help control the quantity of blue gill. You'll have a better quality bluegill population with a few largemouth bass and maybe a few catfish included too.

In my pond I have bluegill, largemouth bass, yellow perch, and channel catfish.

Green sunfish are tough little fish and fight like crazy...fun to catch

The thing is when i stocked my pond what i did is for three days i fished and collected 150 bluegill, 50 the limit each day. I didn’t spend a penny

I also swim in my pond so I got rid of the bluegill because they bite. The hybrid red ear/till don't bite.
