Very classy response. This just shows Fedor is the main man. The record is superb and that cannot be ignored. I just wish all fighters responded this way. Everybody loses at one point. It was about time he lost one. Remember he said 'this was the necessary one' and that is very true. He has the fire back in his stomach.

i like this guys attitude. now that the pressure of being perfect is off him, he can really fight with confidence and ease now. a necessary loss is a perfect way of lookin at it. theres no way he will make the same mistake twice. he wil be better then ever now that hes got the loss out the way. havin a perfect record brings unnecessary pressure and very high expectations that can really distract and even hurt a fighters preperation and mentality. watch out mma universe..da beast is unleashed!

James Haring fedor fought bums, with special rules. the biggest win of his career was outwrestling mirco "crocrop" for three rounds. and mirco "crocrop" couldn't wrestle his way out of a wet paper bag. even kongo outwrestled him, and kongo was the worst wrestler in the ufc, after "crocop" himself.

Can you imagine the huge weight that has just been lifted off his shoulders? I'm a huge fan of Fedor's, however I think this loss was the best thing that has happened to him professionally, for a long time. Now he gets to start again with a clean slate, and a clear head - a deadly combination for a fighter to possess!!!

on one hand, i'm sad he lost but on the other hand....no one is unbeatable and I'm glad his amazing 10 year run came to an end. And by not someone cocky and undeserving... I'm glad it was Werdum who was so respectful before and after the fight.... but one loss enough...damn you Big Foot with your huge fucking hands haha (one hand holding Fedor on the ground, the other hand punching him) jeez, how could anyone get outta that. Fedor is a warrior. I have even more respect for him after that fight.

@TheTheprofessional53 There are several reasons: He has the longest undefeated streak, he is a multi time champion, he has beaten fighters from all disciplines (at their own games) and most importantly he has the most well rounded skill set. There is not another HW right now that has a skill set equal to Fedors. Yes he is getting older and yes Cain Velasquez is showing promise, but he has not beaten the quality of opponents nor had the win streak. He does appear to have a good skill set tho.

@Stefan990 Why do you think Overeem is "the best"? He went on a loss run a few years ago only to gain 30 pounds and come back to destroy old MMA fighters going into retirement. Most the fighters in his recent win streak have been basically on their way down or out of the fighter rankings.

@TerryMMA85 that ufc reject happened to have a 3 fight winning streak before he left the ufc when dana was begging him to come back, then when on to beat current ufc heavyweights ben rothwell and roy nelson.

Nobody is perfect and everybody has sometimes a bad day. Hopefuly, he get over of that and will be better then ever but I think it is not possible in his case ;o)
@TheTheprofessional53 There are several reasons: He has the longest undefeated streak, he is a multi time champion, he has beaten fighters from all disciplines (at their own games) and most importantly he has the most well rounded skill set. There is not another HW right now that has a skill set equal to Fedors. Yes he is getting older and yes Cain Velasquez is showing promise, but he has not beaten the quality of opponents nor had the win streak. He does appear to have a good skill set tho.

I've never seen a fighter so composed as Fedor, it doesn't even seem like the loss phased him at all. We'll see the good old ass kicking Fedor in his next fight no question.
@Stefan990 Why do you think Overeem is "the best"? He went on a loss run a few years ago only to gain 30 pounds and come back to destroy old MMA fighters going into retirement. Most the fighters in his recent win streak have been basically on their way down or out of the fighter rankings.
Loss or not, I still think he is one of the greatest fighters to ever partake in MMA. Never loses his cool or lowers his character. He is the true symbol of why I love martial arts.
it just goes to show that win or lose, fedor is the best inside or outside the ring
