me and my bro wrote a rap about what we were doing to the beat of this..... pretty awesome

Yep, just two big solenoid-actuated butterfly valves that open and close alternately to block off the air stream to each respective rotor.

Sorry, just now saw your comment (got flagged as "spam" for some reason). The solenoids pull the shutters closed when energized, and a spring returns them to the open position when de-energized.

Yeah, you should have seen the springs jumping around in there like crazy while they were opening and closing. It's definitely not very nice on those springs!

This looks nearly like the throttle body in a school bus. (Because a throttle body is basically a butterfly valve actuated by the throttle pulley).

This is what allows the 3T22 to sound HI-LO, correct?

You are correct. This also allows the 1003 to do HI-LO

What type of solenoid is that? I want to build a coding mechanism, but I can't seem to find the right type.

They're solenoids from a 3T22.

Geez, no wonder these things wore out so easily over the years.

Looks like a United Kingdom siren from what I know about the UK.

They are shameless, Heres the siren has a update on the solenoids: Q: what if Federal Signal brought back the 3t22 or 3T22B? A: there will be broadmoor siren solenoids on every end depending on what speed you like.

sorry to sound stupid but broadmoor do own 13 klaxon cs8 sirens with damper's both sides all all 13 theres romors that there going to get scrapped so im still thinking of rescuing 1

I think the CS8 is supposed to look like a 3T22 on its side with different damper motors and no horns

Pretty much, except the plunger is a little different for the 1003; coil is the same though.

I wonder how much it would hurt to put your finger in it.

So that how it works that’s cool and is you see this look up a 3t22 Clyde oh and the dampers where never opened so it’s very high pich
