February 2019 Budget | Student Loan Debt Accomplishment | Aja Dang

I'm Aja Dang and I have some exciting accomplishments to share with you today! Not only did I contribute $30,000 towards my student loan debt in January but I was always able to save up for TWO of my sinking funds goals using Qapital. Next savings goal - saving $2000 to get the boys dental cleaning at the vet (I know, expensive).
January was a very blessed month for me, I'm so grateful to you all because it wouldn't be possible without your support!

Folks, when you look at my budget, please DON'T resolve the comments. That makes them disappear. I opened up the budget so you all can view it but do not make any adjustments to my budget.

Hey, on Google docs you can block people from making changed by keeping it as view only, if people want to use it they can download it and make changes but it at least ensures yours is safe. Hope this helps!

I'm in my first year of uni so the debt creation has started hahaha, I worked out I'll be in over £65,000 of debt once I've finished, it's crazy how uni is!! Although thankfully in the UK we have a student loans system so that we only pay back 9% of what we earn over £25,000 (used to be £21,000) and after 30 years the debt is wiped. I'm so thankful it's that way here (although I feel like the country is gonna lose a lot of money doing it that way), the fees in the US are crazy high I don't even understand. But your journey to becoming debt free is so inspiring! x

I love these videos! I have a question though - I'm super nosy so I follow along in your budget as I watch your videos, and the math is confusing to me (likely because you're paying for some of the bigger expenses like insurance out of your savings, b/c you plan ahead for them). Is there a way to color code in your budget which monies come from in-month income and which come from savings (so I/we can better understand your cash flow)? This assumption is based on: $11369.56 income (after taxes/commission) and $34692.49 expenses ($44692.49 - 10k Mohela check). Discrepancy of about -$23k. Also +1 to the bullet journaling / apps video! Can't wait for that! xo Edited to add: yep, definitely some of the stuff had been saved for (like birthday dinner, etc), so would be awesome to color code or understand what was in-month vs saved for. The reason I ask is because I'm not a YTer but I have a respectable income and am trying to define the balance of in-month vs. savings for myself and seeing someone like yourself do it on a grander scale would be so helpful!

I don't pay anything out of my savings but I never do a zero-based budget. I always have a good chunk of money in my checking account in case there a months I don't get paid (thankfully, that hasn't happened in a while so I keep adding a little every month to my checking account. Makes those months where I overspend not stressful.)
