@@SSSDiva171 They're intimidating because of their body language and vocalizations. They're the smallest of all large cats. They don't normally get taller than knee high to a human. A tiger would kill you, but you definitely stand more of a chance against a mountain lion when it comes to size.

If that animal was days hungry that door would not have held it back. Honesty she is lucky that it was just curious rather than starving. 120-200lb animal would not be deterred by that flimsy door frame... let alone the glass being able to stop it. Yes, they are majestic looking animals but they are also excellent predators.

@@dioxiz4458 So when I look out my glass deck door and the squirrel sitting outside just looks back at me and ignores me it's because the squirrel is stupid? Funny how when I slide the door open it immediately bolts. Animals accustomed to living around humans knows how glass works. That's why you se videos of squirrel and birds not running as a indoor cat paws at them thru the window. That same animal would bolt with the quickness w/o the glass barrier. The dog understand the lion would be a threat, but also knows it's protected by the glass. If anything it's likely intentionally taunting the lion by standing there. For some reason the human woman isn't smart enough to understand that the glass is a barrier. And if she is so scared and thinks it has the strength to break thru she should be getting two of the biggest knives she has to deal with it if it actually did get inside somehow.

@@savedbygrace6076I'm not so sure...larger predators don't always attack. Humans put too much thought into what would, should, could happen but the laws of nature are sooo different. Humans have forgotten how to coexist with nature. For example, we have a large coyote population in our area. We still camp outside and yes, coyotes have come into our yard as we sleep outside. One night, I had to use the bathroom and on my way into the house I came face to face with a large alpha. I sat down and became small. Why? So I looked less intimidating. He walked towards me. He didn't charge and didn't bare his teeth. He wasn't snarling and I sat very still with my hands in my lap so not to worry him. He sat down right in front of me and as he looked at me I looked back at him. I spoke softly to him and he got up and ran off. Show no fear and stay safe. Besides, there's nothing to fear. Animals, no matter the size, don't usually attack unless provoked. Sometimes, they are just as curious about us as we are about them.

Funny how stark a contrast the comments section is. A other comment claims she was in zero danger whatsoever, because mountain lions "can't open doors" - far more people subscribe to this than, well, basic self preservation. Pretty telling that the dumb people are also not afraid of a mountain lion, and even claim the woman in the video was ACTING for more VIEWS. Those people are about as dumb as that dog.

Ive lived out in the mountains my entire life and can confirm there is not much to worry about. Its pretty rare for a lion to break into someone's house. Bears are normally the ones who do that sort of thing. They are rather timid when coming into contact with humans and would rather run away than confront a human. You could have probably scared it off if you came closer to the door or made yourself seem bigger. The biggest concern is letting your dog out alone. Best be there with a weapon when your dog is let outside. They do get scared of loud sudden noises most of the time.

Dude. Seriously? Calm down. That was TWO. accounts of a mountain lion getting desperate enough to actually go after something as risky as a human. Because you are talking about bringing up "facts" let me lay this out for you. In the past 100 YEARS there have been fewer than 2 dozen FATAL mountain lion attacks in north America. Since 1986 (to present day) in California alone there have been a confirmed 22 NON-FATAL mountain lion attacks and only 3 attacks resulting in deaths. The average cow.
