Troy ( season 8) is basically Ginny from season 5-6 in terms of main villain - both had a child with traumatic past - both had a connection/ obsession with the main lead - both said the “ we are the same “ cliche - both died when we thought they were gonna get redeemed - both accomplished nothing Good job 🤭

All of the Fear villains since season 4 have been the same villain lol. Vultures - "thats not the way to live can't live like that anymore, Martha - "cant help people thats not how it works anymore" Logan - "silly people doing the help people", Virginia - Although the best version still is "hmmm no no help people or live together. I'll admit that Teddy was just nuts. Strand "oh can't help people MORGAN!?!" Padre - "helping people and family is evil must kill. Troy - "Madison you cant help people its evil, DIE." Fuck Ian and Andrew lmao

so dumb they brought him back don't explain how he lived give him a redemption arc just to kill him again never let the show runners do anything

Well, he claimed that his wife saved him but I went back and watched that episode and he was laying there with 1000s if gallons of water rushing in him, no way he lives through that but I guess😊

Exactly. If there was another season fear writers would have explained how we didn't see him die and how he pushed back his guts and it healed after. Or they wouldn't explain, just bring him back again for views. Yeah, that sounds more like something they'd do. 😀

That's why they probably released 11 and 12 at same time, because once they killed Troy then nobody would watch the last episode if they had to wait next week.

If it was a shitty ending but they hadn’t brought Troy back I’d be fine but the fact that they brought him back just to redeem him and kill him anyway hurts my soul

Someone should do a compilation of the final season scenes when someone says I did it for Alicia, it's what Alicia would've wanted or it's what Alicia would've done 😂

I give this episode a 7 out of 10, next one I give more though...and I docked it a few points because of Troy's death. He should NOT have been killed. He was resurrected, then redeemed (and honestly, he didn't need all that much redeeming) then fucking killed again? Nope, not cool. I actually understood some of the aspects you didn't like. They didn't need to SHOW us how Madison was saved, all they had to do was tell us...and I assumed (I think we all assumed) it was Padre since the very next time we see Madison, Padre has her. I also understand why everyone (or most anyway) was willing to forgive Troy. He saved Madison from the swamp and started having a more positive outlook. I also understand why Troy told Madison that Tracy was Alicia's daughter. I mean, Tracy herself understood why and she tells Madison (and us) in the next episode. So yeah, not too many gripes with this one, but I really wanted Troy to live...Damn you, Madison! Lol. And writers! And you too, Dan, for predicting it correctly!! Haha!

Thank you for mentioning the gap at the beginning of episode 11, where Troy and Tracy are together lmao! I don’t know how they got back together and I thought I was going crazy. Lol

I thought I missed part of either last week's episode or this week's episode, just didn't make any sense.

Screw these writer’s decision to bring back my two favorite feartwd characters(Charlie & Troy) just to kill them off. If you set the whole episode to have him redeemed then why have Madison kill him in the end like that. I may have been less mad if it was Daniel but c’mon Madison had no right. Especially doing it in front of his kid. I honestly understand why she shot Madison.

Thought they did a really good job at redeeming him tbh and then they killed him😭 Such wasted potential of a major character they could’ve had for spin-offs

I can't believe they killed Troy again, he deserved a happy ending! This is ridiculous. I don't understand why Sharman came back for this shit, knowing how it would end...

Ben/Crane had one of the funniest deaths I’ve seen in this franchise, the way he went from yapping about Madison’s saying to getting eaten immediately was hilarious 😂 A “hardened survivor” like him going out with a gun that only had a few bullets (some that he wasted on warning shots) and NO melee weapons…pathetic 💀 With Troy’s death, I’m a bit more mixed. It genuinely did catch me by surprise since I was like “wow, they’re really gonna redeem him?”, but man I’m sad he’s gone. He was carrying this back half for me 💔

It actually makes sense for Crane to completely suck at actual fighting and survival. He was at the top of his game in a secure, cushy community for YEARS. There's no way he was going out into the field himself. There's no chance he has as much experience as anyone else, even those who worked and actually fought for him.

They should make a Troy spin off. It can be so much content with different writers ofc. But i doubt the character of Troy could ever generate enough attention for his own spin off. But it would be cool to see how he escaped the dam, how he met his wife, how he established his new group, throw a cheeky Nick flashback or something and you have it...

I was hoping Troy would live 😢🧟‍♀️

I liked the characters to this point. But this episode I was honestly rooting for Troy and Tracy. Like wtf? The episode was good untill they reached the bridge. They really f×cked up Madison's character. The ending pissed me off so bad. Why redeem Troy if you kill him off immediately after. Worst strategy. They wanted us to hate Madison or to be like yay Troys gone. Bc they couldn't decide which direction to take the whole f×cking finale. And here I thought how cool, Troy and Madison teaming up to f×ck up that annoying nothing Crane, who just came back like, oh you and wren and nightingale.... Like shut the f×ck up already. And then that stupid ass scene and the bridge... This could have worked if they kept Troy. Madison and him should have taken out Crane together without that stupid scene them being traped in the swamp... and then he could have revealed Alicia is alive. But no, they had to f×ck it up again.

I am 27 minutes in and I am loving it.. Edit: I just finished it and what the hell I retract what I said why kill Troy.. they undid all the good buildup of the episode.

Tracy brings all her sassiness, and definitely has her dad’s attitude, which made me laugh.

The most ridiculous thing for me was how Troy was able to function with a big hole in his shoulder after Madison removed the branch. Other than favoring his left arm, he didn't show any sign of pain or discomfort. He should have been in agony.

I knew crane was gonna return. I knew they weren’t just going to leave him alone and never been seen again. I just wish he got a cooler death like maybe by Daniel instead of random walkers.

The part that explains Alicia was stabbed, bled out on a mattress and then was gone when they got back, happened in episode 12...not this one.

I hope Morgan and Althea end up meeting Rick in the spinoffs. I could definitely see Althea's storyline continuing into involvement with the CRM, somehow.

Before I even watch this review, I'm going to say the only thing I didn't like about this 2 part finale is killing Troy. But, as soon as he put his hand on Madison's shoulder, I fucking knew it! I was yelling at my screen saying, "Troy, get away from her!" Lol. So yeah, bringing him back and killing him "again" is total bullshit. But, you were right, Dan...not only about Troy dying, but also about him dying in the penultimate. What a waste. But, other than that, I'm very surprised they were able to end this so well. If only the rest of the show would've been that good...and yes, I cried like a baby in the finale, at several parts.

I think I remember George Romero disparaging the original show as being a zombie soap opera. I can kind of see his point. Thinking about it, Fear is almost like a soap parody that doesn't know it's a parody.

Crane saving Madison makes zero sense. His death was embarrassingly bad. Somehow Troy's truck gets hit with a giant battering ram??? He's leading the heard but no one knows this happened?? I'd keep going but this would end up being a novel

Troy has like a foot of height on Madison and his head goes under water first. This kills me 😂

I watched both episodes twice......I did like both ( but really liked episode 12 better). I did start laughing about Crane showing up ( I thiught he died after putting his sister down 😂). When Troy said he wasn't the father of course I cracked up ( because I did say watch these two show runners make Alicia the mom and Will was the dad being sarcastic like a week ago) and I was like WOW I WAS JUST KIDDING AROUND😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣. But Troy being Troy with a record of lying deserved to die.....I thought it was gonna be Tracy that kills Troy for lying ( well I did state that also during the week).....well technically she did in episode 12🤣😂👍 Yes it wasn't a perfect episode, but I liked it, especially the way Madison kill Troy...I didn't expect that.

I didn't feel anything for that scene.

At this point. The only way they could get FTWD right is to do a retcon, go back to the end of S3, erase all of S4-8 nonsense and tell the story they were meant to tell, the only way you can do that is if you got Dave Erickson and Nick's actor on board, this won't happen obviously as they left, which clearly hurt the future plans for the script but its the only way Fear could of ever been saved.

This finale was terrible Madison made bad decisions

I'm glad Troy was killed, because he told multiple lies during his "redemption", even his dying sentence was a lie, even if it was for the good of his daughter. But I'm glad they didn't turn him good or forgave him because he spent 7+ years seeking revenge just for him to turn good within a day? Would have been very cliche. Otherwise I hate how we start the episode with Troy and Tracy together, never showing us that he found her after the previous episode. At first I thought it was a flashback. There were very weird time skips in between some scenes where characters are together/at different locations on the next scene, and it was very confusing.

Nobody even mentioned how dumb it was that troy somehow grabbed a root to save them? Dont know what grabbing a root would help when they are in quicksand.. but yeah lol

I'm so glad these writers aren't the ones writing the script for, "The One's Who Live." The ones, probably meaning the CFR. I am a bit worried about it's success, after watching Fear the Walking Dead's decay, however. Cross your fingers.

It really sucks for hat did they really bring him back i mean ok that he dies again i could see coming even when i was hoping he would survive and appear at future spin offs but the way he died just pisses me off i mean they should have made the last season 16 episodes like normal to have more time and after what ian and andrew did someone else should direct the last season but yeah it is what it is that is how you waste another good character and actor for nohing than just to hide that you are to stupid to make a story interesting without the hype of the fans for a comeback of a fan favorite character

Fans are missing the point. This is the entire end of fear! And Troy has had so many chances. He even betrayed his wife’s dying wish and tried to murder Alicia in cold blood! Then tracked down madison! He cannot be redeemed. He has asked for second chances for years and it was interesting to see him in this episode. He lied so many times in this episode. Even to his daughter. If he was purely good and told the truth in the entire episode, I would have been more upset. But he cannot be trusted. He literally knocked madison out with a shovel when she kept her guard down. If the show had more seasons, I wouldn’t be as forgiving….but the show is over. Who cares! Troy in this episode lied constantly and still wanted to save his skin.

I agree. He has had many chances and he has gotten how many people killed and all for himself and lies. Then he lies, then he lies, and when he gets the 200th chance he lies again. With some of his stories about Alicia poisoning everyone I am wondering "Troy, what did you put in the drinking water, you naughty boy, you?" because these ideas are coming from somewhere. "No one is gone until they are gone" and Madison finally made sure he was Gone!!!

I thought the twist was going to be that Madison attempted to take a young baby Tracy from her mother as a member of PADRE and killed her in the struggle, killing Troy's partner. This would've been failed of course, and would explain his fervent hatred of PADRE and Madison. They could've even had Troy find and murder Crane for his role in leading PADRE, that would've been a great way to reintroduce him. Maybe Crane could've actually been at peace with himself and actually wanted to help, so it could've been this murder that causes Madison to kill Troy, toppling this little balancing act of redemption of his.

It felt like over a hour long despite being a bit short. With that said, overall it was fine for Fear Episode 12. Didn't like Crane showing up again, but cool with Madison doing what she did.

Killing Troy off again was the dumbest mistake and so was the Alicia fan girls (in the actual show) I also did not enjoy this episode whatsoever, but I liked episode 12, it was a good ending and gave everyone a conclusion And the return of crane was so funny because he died within 15 minutes of his return 😂😂 Also I like Alicia and all but I hate how much each character meat rides her throughout season 8, like it’s literally been years and these people are still meat riding Alicia (in the actual show😂) insane and awful writing The worst character of this season was Tracy and Madison hands down.

Glad that it was over. The last episode was a good goodbye.

Madison was always going to have to kill troy lol the writers should have let him live but i understand why the character killed him off.. because he would have tried to kill her again or something if she let him live.. troy was really manipulative and he was probably just saying whatever he needed to

This pissed me off and actually ruined my day yesterday not gonna lie😅 Troy should survive and meet Negan or Rick at some point or joined the CRM. Madison is so shit.

I enjoyed both episodes.

We do see some of the battle only a little tho that’s good tho I don’t get why people want to see fighting all the time it’s more story but I feel like some things were bad they brought some things back around

id have preferred troy lived - and they didnt blow up padre.. i wanted them booted out (with alisha alive on the horizon of other shows) and that padre became water-born.. (the whole wharfs ship and supplies storyline begged for that.. instead they cleared the roads and then left all from a tiny peninsular swamp all heading different diirections - and madison alisha and tracy popping up with new identities in the future - maybe.. i hope madison is related to lucielle being her sister.. and its a case of alishas unky negan..

Ya, the writing for the show got crappy. But still really a shame this show fell from grace. First few seasons were excellent. Than Morgan came on with other great characters like John and Al. But ofc, writing got real shitty and kinda went down hill in S6 if u ask me. Again, some parts were good and I think had great potential. Example, bringing back Troy? I do think it would've been good, if not for the fact it was leaked, that he's return really didn't make much sense on how he survived S3, and that he came so late in S8. Maybe if he came in during the first half, things could been fleshed out more idk. I guess theres a lesson in all this: despite how shitty the writers strike was, clearly there was a reason for it.

I think she was pregnant and had a baby there Troy’s brother is the father, because we don’t know how long Alicia stayed at that hidden away Cavin, but it could’ve been time for her to give birth so Troy is the uncle

Actually, Dan...you kinda got one thing wrong in the review. Tracy didn't run off to find Madison. She was trying to find a radio. When Madison showed up, Tracy didn't trust her and didn't want to tell Madison where her dad was, because she believed Madison would not help him.

@@struan8467 I don't know, maybe it was impossible to get to. I mean, if Troy had a working radio that he could get to himself, he could've radioed for help. All I know is, Tracy didn't run off to find Madison, that was made very clear in the scene when Madison showed up.

For ep10 I would say it was filler cause they didn't have ideas, characters just going back and forth, ep11 started off good, I liked the song choice and Troy and his daughter having a scene together, but it slowly goes back to all the same stuff, and I hated how they skipped how Troy saved Madison just like the battle in ep10
