Messi clearly saved his final energy for the WC in 2022 he put his heart and soul into it because it was the one trophy that evaded him and he finally got his hands on it when Argentina defeated France in the final in a penalty shootout after finishing 3-3 after extra time you see him playing for PSG and you just know that his heart isn't in it anymore he's won everything there's to win both as part of a team and on an individual basis so what else has he got left to achieve he's entitled to see out his career how he chooses his GOAT status is already assured imo and he will always be an all time legend of the game and it will be many generations if ever until you see a player like him again

Sure, he might be better at headers, but that is a very ancillary part of the game and just one of a plethora of ways to finish. Puyi, Pique, Rafa, Alves, Bojan, Xavi, Iniesta and everyone else in that team during that time laughed and went bonkers reacting to him. It is by far the greatest Leo Messi memory I have. I still watch it every now and then to smile. He was so drunk that day. Id love to know the story of the next day. They surely teased him for weeks for that crazy night. 2. That ultra instinct dribbling past half the team and goal against Getafe. Ankara Messi, 3. Copa America and World Cup celebration with him lifting the last 2 trophies he deserved. It was a fairytale ending for the GOAT. And thousands more. For 17 years, he did thousands of great moments.

My best Messi moment is his first Classico when he scored a hattrick.

his best moment was finally winning the world cup, but if we are talking about in game special moment his goal in the Copa del Rey final against Athletic club was just about the most ridiculous thing I saw him do and it encapsulates him as a player perfectly, the close control of the ball dribbling through multiple defenders slotting it into an impossibly small window with immense precision. but his biggest moment for me would be that goal against Mexico in the world cup it felt like he gave CPR to his dying team in real life, from that moment Argentina woke up and started playing well it was unbelievable.

There are so many Messi memories it's definitely difficult to choose from for me the best moment is when he won the biggest title off them all & that's when he won the world cup

When he was on stage to receive the wc golden ball and walked over to kiss the trophy. That was a beautiful resolution a 35 journey of heartbreak and perseverance

Honestly, picking a favorite Lionel Messi moment would be such a crime because it would mean putting one over the others, and it's so tough to do as a Messi fan. Although if I had to pick one forcefully, that famous 3rd goal against RM in the 3-2 at Bernabeu, that was probably my loudest scream in my life along with Messi's 3rd goal in the WC Final. This is not my favourite 'goal', it's just an incredible 'moment'

I think it’s more the celebration after the goal. The second goal in the 2011 UCL semis was unreal. In real time it was an unimaginable feat. Having said that I don’t even think that’s the greatest moment. The man made outrageous things seem normal.

The game against Zaragoza at La Romareda in 2010/11. He scored the wonder goal, then earned a penalty late on and because Ibrahimovic was having a stinker of a match he let zlatan take the spot kick. I had my head in my hands most of the match, barely able to believe what I was seeing. A genius..
