    How much miles did the vehicle run before chain replacement?

    brilliant vid, keep it up! Out of interest, can you inspect the chain without removing the cover, for example the plastic cover just above the oil filter housing?

    I did this job today on a Seat Ibiza, the right hand chain guide was completely missing, it was in the bottom of the sump and all stuck in the strainer. And those timeing covers are a pain to get back on 😒

    When your chain gave up did it smash any valves?

    @lukemeecham1997 Fortunately the chain hadn't given up, it hs jumped timing slightly on the cams, but no internal engine damage occurred if my memory serves me correct. Most VWAG engines aren't interference engines, meaning it's very unlikely the piston would touch the valves even under complete chain or belt failure 👍🏻

    The crankshaft sensor is located at the back of the engine, under the intake manifold on the engine block

    It's a design fault, it will eventually hit, regardless how often the oil has been changed.

    is it possible to chance just the tensioner alone? just screwing the tensioner from outside , without to disasembly the hole thing?

  • @enkamotors7012

    @enkamotors7012

    No, you cannot reach the tensioner without removing the lid but the problem is usually due to the chain stretching so the everything inside must be changed. Hope this helps

    There was no problem with bent valves as there was no snap or jump. I hope it helps.

    If your chain snaps will I need to replace valves or is this a non interference head?

    Al meu motor are zgomotul acela la pornirea la rece, dar pornește mai bine decât acesta din videoclip. O să verific lanțul.

    Does the tensioner need a gasket?
