Fats 101

Everything you need to know about FAT🥑
This is my third installment in my KZread series about macronutrients.
Growing up, fat was the most villainized macronutrient - everything was either non-fat or zero fat. But today, it might be the most over-glorified macronutrient.
To put this into perspective, I like to remind everyone that nature favors mediocrity. Think about a pack of gazelles, stay with me… the overzealous leaders in the front get the river first where the crocodiles are waiting. The last ones in the pack get picked off by the lions and hyenas.
The same is true for saturated fat.
You want to have enough saturated fat in your diet for your hormones but, at the same time, too much of it can increase your cholesterol.
The reality is: EVERYTHING in moderation.

Thanks for your insights! I enjoy peanut butter, too. When my kids were young and would complain about being hungry at bedtime, a teaspoon of peanut butter did the trick. When I'm feeling sluggish and am about to start an activity, a tablespoon of peanut butter does the trick. And when I started my focus on weight loss, a tablespoon of peanut butter with a fiber supplement and a cup of coffee was a great 100 calorie way to start my day. I switched out peanut butter for a lower fat, higher protein supplement to start my day, but we always keep a jar in the pantry. PS: store the jar upside down so the oils float to the bottom of the jar instead of the top!

This channel is so slept on it's criminal. Your content is consistently incredible, no BS, all value. Do you have any bloodwork services you recommend? Anything outside basic cholesterol/lipid panel isn't covered at my doctor's so I'm wondering if there are services that will do them that are somewhat affordable. Thanks so much for all your content

How many whole eggs a day you eat & suggest are safe for individuals who are not fat+active.
