What should happen is the trans child should have accommodations in a private locker room. I have a five-year-old girl and we go to lunch at this café and she was nervous to see that email was in the bathroom. It’s so hard to explain this to children. I think the best thing is just to say make a non-gender room. Everyone should feel comfortable and since a trans woman or meal is not a biological male or woman they should have a third room. I don’t feel 100% comfortable as an adult in the situation so I can’t imagine how a child must feel. Nothing against trans people at all!

Brave father and daughter doing what is necessary to combat evil head-on. It is not possible to fight evil with tolerance, understanding, or acceptance. Evil is darkness and must be publicly exposed to the light of truth, wherein it cannot survive.

I just want to point out that this dad wasn’t the only dad fired. Another dad was fired as well from coaching and the superintendent said “he didn’t pass a background check”. Something with the fingerprints, that dad is the chief of police in Northfield, VT. The superintendent and school board have gone nuts.

When I was in High School over 25 years ago, a male student would not only be suspended for doing this, he'd also be arrested. Now this disgusting behavior is cultivated & condoned by nearly the entire education system. America is a nation in decline, & it's so sad to see how this has become socially acceptable nationwide.

Sick sick sickening

I've been following this story since it broke. One of the local TV affiliates did an interview with Blake, and a couple of other girls from the team. This is one takeaway I got from that interview. The trans student was going into a private space in the locker room (I'm assuming a bathroom stall) to change so the girls didn't see his genitals, but then would stand and watch the girls change clothes. Also not mentioned was that the team have ALL been refused the right to go in the girls locker room at this point (including for gym class) and are being forced to change (one by one) in a small bathroom. I didn't know that her dad has now lost his job. Good for them on getting an attorney and suing.

The school is disgusting to be treating its female athletes like this! I hope they have spread the word to all the students and their parents that this is how the school is now treating them, and then every family should disenroll their children from the school so it has zero students. That would force the school to either immediately reverse its amoral policies or shut down completely. No school can stay open if it has too few students attending.

The problem is when the father got suspended every single employee should have been behind him and protested. Same as the young girl, people that don't want this to happen need to become brave and protest and stand up to this bullying. This makes my blood boil

But I did look into the issue further, specifically a dailymail article on the subject for more context. Both of them intentionally miss gendered the trans student in question multiple times, which can be really hurtful to a trans person. Then when the daughter was told to write a apology, they doubled down saying they had nothing to apologize for. I don't believe she has malice in her heart, just genuine ignorance. I do agree that there feelings count, but I dont think the mild comforts of the majority should be weighed in higher regard then the rights of minorities simply trying to exist. Where it stands now, states that implemented changes to allow trans people to use the locker rooms and bathrooms of there choice haven't seen any major spikes in sexual harassment or assault. its mostly an unfounded worry. I dont think the father shouldve been fired right away, but I dont feel bad for him or the daughter either, they've doubled down in there ignorance.

Every other student and parent needs to grow some balls and stick up for these two then the school would back down immediately.

My niece is 12 years old and we had a long chat about this topic, she assured me that if this was to happen and she felt uncomfortable she would refuse to change. I’m only glad that her dad, my brother would back her all the way. Hat of this this Dad for sticking up for his daughter
