As much as I like Arturia, yeah... "He" was NOT ready for parenthood even under normal circumstances, let alone the complicated ones that brought Mordred into being.

Battle of Camlann [True Ending]: Mordred: See father!? This is what you get for hating me just because I was born to a witch! Arthuria: I never hated you. Mordred: What? Arthuria: I only said you couldn't have the throne because you weren't ready to be a king. Mordred: Wha-? Arthuria: You know, you could have just kept training and studying. Mordred: B-but... Arthuria: And now it's too late. Look around you. Would a king do this to their people? Mordred: I... Arthuria: You failed. Mordred: Well maybe if you hugged me and explained that sooner, then this woudn't be happening! Arthuria: ... Mordred: ... Arthuria: I- Mordred: So...wanna go for pizza? Arthuria: Yes...let's. Man, if only Fate Apo focused on Mordred and Kairi instead of Sieg it would have been the best Fate work yet. So flawed yet so good. They have the synergy of Uryu and Giles but the compassion Shirou and Arturia had. Truly the best servant master duo in recent memory.

I'm sadden by how Mordred lived, not being accepted by her 'father' if it were me, I would've accepted her as at least my child.

The sad thing is that Artoria never hated Mordred, she just couldn't see her as a right heir to the throne. Also, she saw Mordred as her own failure as a king which lead to the downfall of Camelot.

Type-Moon...when’re you going to finish Strange Fake and all your adaptations so you can summon Mordred and Artoria to the same Grail War and sit them down for a nice, long chat?

Actually in fate/grand order during the summer event, both mordred and arturia were there... And the way arturia talks to mordred is honestly sickining, I wouldn't want to both of them in an adaptation because it'll just put Saber in a bad light imo

Honestly the best thing that came out of Apocrypha was Mordred and Kairi. Seriously they the potential of such a great (or at least better) story if they just focused on those two as the main characters. Cause 1. they are both badasses and 2. MORDRED IS BEA/BEST SABER.

Mordred and kairi was the equal of the BOI and iskandar in the fate zero for me , they were considered "side" crew since story was not based around them but the master-servant relationships those had was just perfect!

I want to see Mordred and Artoria have a day or time where they can just try to get along or bond. Interestingly, I think a Mordred Lily might be a nice concept, from a time where she was devoted to Artoria before the tragedy of her story.

EVERYONE in fate has such a fucked up back story. I love it

I can only imagine such a chance meeting. Shirou kind as he is would probably welcome her with open arms. Altria would probably react with mixed feelings, then Mordred would react with confusion and rage. The child and parent would start fighting it out while Shirou goes and fetches the Whiskey. Knowing it’s going to be one of those days.

Mordred didn't want to pull the sword from the stone She wanted a chance to pull the sword from the stone and prove that she had the kingly qualities that Artoria said she lacked. She really never wanted the throne just her father's recognition

If we follow Fate lore, than meeting as servants wouldn't change a thing since servants are nothing more than perfect copies of themselves. All memories and experience accumulated during a grail war is erased when the servant dies or disappears (Artoria being somewhat of an exception).

i originally hated mordred in both legend and the fate realm, but after hearing her/his story makes me feel bad for her, she/he was a meer pawn of her mothers schemes.

Mordred is bar none my favorite Knight of the Round Table. Her playful, tomboyish personality is most endearing, and she’s proven multiple times to be quite loyal to those who earn her trust. As I said a year ago, it is ironic that the Knight of Treachery would prove a dependable and loyal ally. It saddens me that her relationship with Artoria is so strained. As I have said before, one of the biggest draws of the Fanfiction Fragments of Chaldea is that the two of them do get an opportunity to reconcile and become a loving family unit along with the other Round Table members.

I’ve read somewhere that in Fate, the Battle of Camlann was the first conflict between Mordred and King Arthur. In fact, Mordred actually wanted it to be the only fight so that civilian casualties could be kept to a minimum. Also, something rather interesting is that Mordred was actually left in charge of Camelot while the King was fighting in Rome. So, you have to admit that Saber kind of shot herself in the foot, especially if she was aware of Mordred’s anger at her.

If the only reason you hate Mordred is because she killed Artoria, then you need to get over yourself. I love both father and son and they ended up killing each other. Each have their respective faults for letting things end in such a tragedy yet at the same time both recognize their respective faults once they were summoned as familiars. I love them both and will keep doing so. I encourage you to do the same and the stop the needless hate, especially for Mordred.

Nice. If you read fanfics, I'd recommended Knight of the Heart by Jarl of the North. It's a "what if" fic for if Mordred was taken from Morgan and raised in Camelot.

Mordred was the daughter that shishigo ever wanted and Shishigo was the father that mordred ever needed!

Mordred may have been the face of the rebellion but Morgana was the one who planned the entire thing for years.

Mordred only faded because her master died. He even said she could continue and make a pact with someone else to keep fighting, but she chose to die with him. She was fine after that battle.

I never even hated Mordred, I definitely would have words with Morgan, although that lady has magic and won't hesitate. All of this including Mordred's conception happened because Morgan was jealous of her sister, Artoria getting more love from her father and possible everyone who saw her as a worthy king. That Jealousy of her continued to seether within Morgan to the point that she plotted to take down her sister and take over the kingdom herself, through Mordred. And people are right, Artoria had no people skills, so after she found out about her sister's plot, she just told Mordred off just like that, because she wasn't having any of it for one. I'm keeping in mind that Mordred was born away from the knowledge of Artoria at the time. My point is, Mordred was used by her mother to fulfill her selfish desires, and after all the persuasion, all it took was Artoria's unwillingness, or better yet, being unable to understand Mordred, to see her as her child to set her off. Strangely enough it is true in that perspective because 1) it was incest. and 2) Obviously Mordred's conception was not consensual. But because she's alive, people are looking into this part and making discussion about Artoria and what she would have done...but they are talking about the past regardless of their intentions. The whole "Artoria was a dick" thing is just something they're making time to make a fuss about, and we already know about Artoria's flaws that even Merlin admitted to something that was never improved upon until she met Shirou. That was all in the past. The present, assuming these two have a chance to be in the world together, may have them have some sort of conclusion to their own feelings in each other, as parent and child. One day...maybe.

Some people want to have Artoria and Mord get their rematch. But I on the other hand would like for them to finally make up. Because Artoria knew all along, she wasn't as worthy of being the King just like her daughter was. She died full of regrets, from the downfall of the Knights of the Round, to the downfall of Camelot itself. And most importantly, she died never even treated Mordred the attention she deserved.

Especially if you'd think they would meet again in the Throne of Heroes, sadly they most likely won't. As caster Amadeus Mozart said in Grand Order: "There are many heroes in the Throne, as there were stars in the sky, for us to even see each other in such afterlife would be next to impossible." It is possible but in a one in a million chance. Akasha is a stickler when it comes to managing even their afterlives.

I know this is late but my speculation is that maybe Mordred was presented Clarent as a sort of badge of office after making it into the Knights of The Round but because after revealing her true identity to Artoria and Artoria rejected her maybe the sword was then weakened or taken back. I mean isn't Clarent supposed to be The Royal Sword of Succession, meant to be passed on to the heir? Because Artoria denied Mordred and didn't recognize her as her heir, the sword was then considered stolen (by way of not being in the hands of an acknowledged heir, not actually stolen) and it's strength weakened or maybe Artoria took Clarent back and Mordred stole it while she was away. Just a thought :3

Your video help me understand Mordred much better and how come King Arthur flaws too. Excellent facts!

Hopefully, we will get a SaberfaceMorgan Le Fay as Caster (I don't think we have anyone in FGO yet) servant soon and we will see how her story plays out. So far her story is pretty interesting. 1/ Morgan is the firstborn child hence she should inherit the throne due to hirachy. 2/ Her younger sister Artoria, pulled Caliburn out of the stone and was crowded as new king due to the sword ruling. 3/ Morgan holds grudges against Arotria due to this development (then maybe some back story on how the 2 used to get along with Morgan destine to be the next empress only to lose the throne to Artoria due to a magical sword Caliburn selection ruling). 4/ This will make Mordred had a strong claim to the throne due to being a child of Morgan with the lost of Caliburn (no more king selection via Caliburn hence go back to order of hierarchy) after Artoria reign without heir due to being female, and Guinivere and Lancelot affair got exposed. So much materials, MAKE IT HAPPENS TYPE MOON.

From what I read, the expedition that Artoria had that gave Mordred the opportunity to stage the rebellion was actually the manhunt for Lancelot and during the King's absence, Mordred took Clarent (Artoria's other sword) from the armory where despite her being able to use it skillfully, only the rightful king can use its full potential, if so, then Mordred is indeed one remarkable Saber class that was only held back by her family issues if she was still able to deliver a killing blow to Artoria in life and can still use Clarent Blood Arthur as a servant with such power output when she does not even have the full right to be using it. Truly Mordred has a lot of learning to do but imho, she is worthy to be Artoria's heir. Too bad Artoria decided not to trust the blood residing inside her child.

Indeed. I can't say I know for sure all the details of how the Rome expedition fits in with chasing after Lancelot. Garden of Avalon and such don't really give a timeline of events.

Yup the Lore is very vast, I get dizzy reading all of em that is why i much rather watch your narrative videos XD Mordred according to the source was in charge of Camelot and had an interesting chit chat with Mrs. Pendragon as part of Mordred's plan of destabilizing Artoria's rule from within. ^_^; Cunning little cat indeed.

I'm sure Mordred can be acknowledge by her dad, if she can prove herself and that she is the important knight that cannot be replaced

I find Mordred to be cool in most respects as she does not really hide herself behind a mask like Artoria when she was alive. I'm not sure if anyone made a connection but I see Mordred in the same light as Starscream himself from the Armada series; I remember the scene Galvatron recalls the last words of Starscream (waking him up) and when he berated his minions as he pointed out that; Yes, Starscream did betray him but he never strayed from the Descepticon code; this brings a smile to my face as this fits Mordred too.

I'd actually say that both Mordred and Artoria hid themselves behind masks to some degree. Neither of them had a chance to live a "normal" life, and were swords for other people - Artoria for her people, and Mordred for Morgan le Fay. Both of them had to live as men and had to live around men, and didn't really get any chance to express themselves honestly. (both Artoria and Mordred wanted to be viewed and treated as men). The difference between their personality really comes from their personality themselves. Mordred's personality seems more centered around passion, while Artoria tends to be more about being formality, honor, and pure-heartedness(?). Although Artoria seems to be prone to getting upset or sulky quite easily - especially if she gets teased, at least towards people really close to her. (certain portions of Fate route and Hollow Ataraxia will show this well).

Great video!!! Both Mordred and Artoria are great characters. So The whole Artoria having the gentleman's rod by Merlin was a tempory thing or was it a permanent attachment? Because I've been trying to get more info. Also if this was a permanent thing even her time of the Holy Grail Wars. I will never forgive you, Merlin.
