Fighting ghosts with a camera is a concept that, on paper, seems like it should be comedic, but Fatal Frame has always made it work.

@@bamban_garcia5562 haha I was joking, don't worry :) I never had the ps2 but I got to play FF2 and FF4 for the Wii, I also didn't have the Wii U so I'm glad they gave us the chance to play this FF5, which I'm enjoying these couple of nights :D I just wish they had released a physical edition outside of Japan, but well at least we can play it.

Time to take out the Labo camera for maximum immersion

The LABO had promise for becoming unique ways to play games. Kinda wish they implemented them into actual games. Maybe if you can remap controls, and tweak the motion controls, you can use the LABO camera.

Huh? This game had localization before, this is just a port of it. The 4th game is the only one that doesn't have an English release.

The Fatal Frame series needs love

I played this for 3 hours and brooooo im feeling im playing again the classics resident evil or silent hill, i thought i was to old to feel this anxiety on a horror game but this is totally on another lvl compared to other “horror” games launched these years. I highly recommend this game, I don't care what rating or what the media says, i bought this game completely blind and im glad i did it, hope it sells well to another game on the next years

yeah I read the reviews after buying. they got it completely wrong. excellent game.

So nice that people here know that this was a Wii U game port. Over on the other side, people are complaining about the graphics so much that aren't you glad this got released on other systems too? I did not have a Wii U back then so I am just glad that we have another chance of playing this game. Shame though because there is no US physical release 😅

I think it's completely valid for people to be let down by the graphics considering its a remaster and not a port. If you look at comparison videos, it doesn't appear like anything has been changed or upscaled, which is usually something a remaster does. At the very least upgrading a few textures would be appreciated. They're not expecting the world at all, and I think most people know this started out as a Wii U game. But just because that's the case, doesn't mean it couldn't of had a few upgrades. I also don't see people complaining in a really toxic manner, more just a genuine critique. It's ok to judge a product and still like it - it's something you wish was done better so you could enjoy it even more. A majority of people criticising the graphics I can guarantee are fans of Fatal Frame that want to see it return. But they want it to be as best as it can be.

I think it is a different version of Fatal Frame. I played the one for the Wii U. It was anazing, but had a totally different story than the one in this video. I always wanted another FF game though. Can't believe it took them years to release this version overseas..

But there is a physical release we can import and play easily, since the Switch is region free. I have that on the way here, and also intend to get it on the PS4 too. Time to show support and make sales of the series bubble up.

I'm glad to see this game getting a second chance, and I hope this isn't the last Fatal Frame release on the Switch.

Part 4 is being HD remastered and finally released in the west on all consoles including the Switch.

I got into the series with the Wii-remake of the 2nd game. One of my favourite horror-games to date. Also imported the japanese version of the 4th game, just because I enjoyed the 2nd so much. Fatal Frame 5 is also a good game, but I think the other games did some things better. I would love to see a remaster/collection of the earlier games on switch, now that would be amazing :)

I’ve been wanting to play this game forever. Ever since moving on from the Wii U, this game was haunting me since all I’ve done was play the demo and not the actual game. If nobody is sure about getting this game (and from playing until Ch. 1 of the demo), I totally recommend it.

Bring the trilogy already !

there were actually 4 games before maiden. mask of the lunar eclipse never left japan, which is a shame because i hear it was quite good.

@@Inkdisc most people consider it a well designed game but the 4th game in the series was heavily criticized for it's controls and lack of technical polish. I really hope it gets some sort of english release someday, as well as a new release of the first 3, but for now Imma enjoy this one.

Super happy to see Fatal Frame on the Switch! I’ve been a fan of the series since the PlayStation 2 and adored Black Water on the Wii U. Looking forward to being able to play it on the go now!

Ahh Fatal Frame V. The sole reason I bought the WiiU lol. Fatal Frame and Etrian Odyssey are the system seller for me. I did a cover for the ost as well. Glad it came to the Switch and I think it looks more polished and crisp.

I love to see that this series gets some well deserved attention. I played all the games and just finished the original wii u version again in the spirit of Halloween. I really hope we get more games because fatal frame is one of the best horror franchise in my opinion.

Yeah, what I want are the remasters of the previous four games, with Crimson Butterfly having the DCB content and graphics (the latter being updated for Switch) and Mask of the Lunar Eclipse having a proper English dub and translation.

With how KT has been putting out collections of their games lately. Between the recent Ninja Gaiden trilogy collection and several Atelier trilogy collections. I would be shocked if they don’t remaster and release the PS2 FF trilogy of games for current platforms. I don’t see them releasing FF4 localized though.

Got the Japanese physical version on the way to me as we speak, as it will support English text. I am thrilled that all systems are region free, which makes it so much easier to support franchises we love, including this one. We'll see remakes of the older titles next, mark my words on that. This series deserves so much love. Let's support it any way we can and help it break a million sold!

@@B3engMarine Play-Asia has it in stock, Japanese and Asian version on the Switch supports English. Asian PS4 version does as well, while the Japanese PS4 version does not. The PS4 version requires you to go into the options menu to enable English, but once you do, you're good to go.

There better be a physical version. The only reaso I didnt buy this on WiiU was for that reason only.

I’m getting this on both Switch and Ps4 to support the game.

Due to this happening it seems koei tecmo are testing the waters for a continuation or a full reboot. Either way its good to have fatal frame back even if its a re-release of the wii u title

@@ImSoCold.... It is the bikinis that Koei will censor. The Nintendo outfits are removed because the license expired, and were made to replace the bikinis. The Japanese version might include the bikinis. Bikinis do fit the horror, and can be scary.

I was lucky to find a sealed new copy for $5 at GameStop. Several other GS had only the game cartridge which was freaking stupid, how are you suppose to play the game without the AR book, GS is such a moronic Retail store…

Funny thing .. I'm playing in Xbox this title and never played until now... I'm having fun let's see if this Wii u title will title in their own exclusive at time .

Konami lost the original source code to Silent Hill 2 & 3...they "remade" them from the ground up for the PS3 Silent Hill Collection, and they were done terribly. So unless Konami decides slap the rom with emulators on a disc (I can pretty much win money RN by saying that won't happen), that won't happen.

@@rexation8952 Hijinx Studio did not "remade" Silent Hill 2 nor Silent Hill 3 they were given incomplete beta or alpha source codes for both of them (no idea why they were a shovel ware studio) since Konami saw it as a quick cash grab due to at the time popular high definition remasters Rely On Horror has a very in depth interview with them regarding their botched output

You can import the physical version via Play-Asia if needed. Whether you get the Japanese or Asian Switch version, doesn't matter, it supports English. I should know, I imported a Japanese Switch copy and an Asian PS4 copy, do not get the Japanese PS4 version as that one does not support English.

This is also available on all other platforms too, if you ask me, with how Nintendo handled this franchise in the past, it never should've been exclusive to their systems.

Makes me want to get my wii u fixed and buy it there, since the gamepad immersion element. However I fear😨 I might not get that chance if the eshop on wii u shuts down.
