That "knights can't jump" rule was a bit weird, I think it was supposed to mean that they can't move over other pieces, not that they can't move at all. Because why would the rules otherwise say that you can move at most 2.25 squares, which is just a tiny bit over one knight move's length, and that extra 0.25 would be irrelevant to all other pieces? But anyway, if knights can't jump, they can't move that >2.25 distance in a straight line but have to do one step diagonally and one step orthogonally, which totals in a move lenght of ~2.41 which isn't allowed. Or one could argue that knights always jump, so if they can't jump, they can't move (which I think was Simp's reasoning for not moving his nags).

  • @LoudWaffle

    A horsey move is about sqrt(5) = 2,236 < 2,25; shouldn’t they be allowed to move? :(

But they couldn't really move because they also couldn't jump over pieces

Yeah they can move but the rules stated they can't jump over any pieces, which means clearing the way before they're allowed to do anything anyway.

I think "knights can't jump" meant they need have a clear path to where they are moving. Because they cannot jump over pieces. The move distance was clearly a little over 2 instead of just being 2 to allow them to move

Btw your horsey could have moved because thats only a distance of aroung 2.23 squares
