Thank you for this! Especially about counting calories burned - I think this confusion is part of what led up to my current plateau. I like to see how much I burn, but trying to count that into my caloric intake (and then a caloric deficit) is so confusing and can get frustrating. This was so helpful! Thank you!!!

Hi Mari! My friend & I just started GG1 today and it was really great, added some planks & running at the end. It took me a year and 4 months to reach my goal weight (65lbs down from 217lbs) and I can't wait to learn more about weightlifting with your guides. Girl I get what you're saying about plateau, I hit 3-4 of them since starting my journey January 2018. Really love the second to last question. As usual awesome video

I just started watching your videos last week, I really enjoy listening to your advise. I don't work out at all(I'm turning 20 next month), but yesterday I decided it was time to start. I walked a mile yesterday, got my heart rate up, only took me 19mins. Today I did 3min 10lb & 5lb arm routine, then 1min squats & 1min crunches. My heart was going crazy & I felt sick. I only had 400 calories today, breakfast & lunch. Out of everything I said my question is, what is a good place to start? I thought what I was doing was slow, but my body is telling my otherwise. What is a good exercise to do as a beginner?

Thank you so much Mari! Question for you: I realize I’ve been including my workouts in my tracking so my daily calories have been all over the place depending on if I worked out or not (oops). Now that I calculated where I should actually be eating everyday (I was also subtracting calories from my BMR not my maintenance calories, again oops) should I just start eating at that number? Or do I need to do more of a reverse diet and introduce calories back slowly so that I don’t derail my progress? (I have been making progress though thanks to you!

How much do you currently weigh ? I'm tall as well and it's hard to get an actual realistic idea for us tall girls. I know everyone's bodies are different but it's still nice to estimate.

Losing weight really fast isn't a great idea. Intermitted fasting can be used as a tool to lose weight. It only works if you eat in a caloric deficit

Hey, I know you posted this ages ago but I'm 5'11 and my fitness pal automatically sets my calories at arounr 1800, however I actually try to eat 1750. You can change my fitness pal to match any calories you like 🙂
Hey I’ve been scrolling through so many posts and videos and I can’t seem to find information of warmups. Should I be doing warmup exercises like hip raises, fire hydrants, etc before starting with Squats or deadlifts? How many warmup exercises should I do and why?

Mari, I'm struggling hardcore. I have been eating healthy and working out consistently for the past month. I lost three lbs and then out of nowhere gained two and it won't budge. I know you talked about plateaus but how can you know if you are eating too little or too much? Can eating too little mess up your weight loss? I have lowered my carb macros a lot but it doesn't seem to make a difference. :(
