this railing works if you're building a basic rectangular deck. I have angle cuts in the corners, which looks better, but the railing connections had to swivel to work. Trex makes swivel connectors, which were very expensive.

That is definitely a very sexy deck system. I just built a large deck with stainless steel cabling so I totally appreciate the modularity of this system. I'm curious though how you can get something like that to pass code. With a deck over 30 in high those posts need to be 42 in tall and with all that leverage and only four bolts holding it from the top I don't think it would be stiff enough to withstand the 200 lb test load at the very top which can't deflect more than about an inch and a half. I could see when you were trying to "plumb" the post that there was quite a bit of flex on your base deck. I did watch your video building the deck but I didn't really see enough blocking underneath where the post mount to secure them even with that lovely structural screw which I often use from Simpson SDWS Timber screw. The span between your posts was over 4 ft which normally wouldn't pass code here without an intermediate support for the wires. Maximum gap allowed is 4 in and even with the fancy tensioning system I doubt you could prevent it from opening up in the middle to 4 in.

Nice videos. Very helpful. (Just a respectful FYI - The term is "Plumb" for vertical lines.) It looked as though you may not have hit a joist on all fasteners for that 6-bolt corner post. I was hoping that you'd cover placement of fastening blocks withing the joist system for the railing system during the deck install. Did I somehow miss your tutoring on that ?

Great project! Looks like the screws securing the posts to the deck are not perpendicular to the deck. Is this just the shoot angle or is this deliberate? If deliberate, why? Holding power? Minimize structure members splitting? Also, the end post screws (4:26) are different-why?

Holy crap! That's about $500 a section. 12mm tempered glass railings cost half as much, look better, and easier to install than this (auto tilt, and leveled with shims). But they are a little harder to clean. On the other hand, these will provide a perfect base for spider webs, and the glass railings wouldn't... So these might need cleaning more often.
