I'm watching all these videos tonight. Subscribed. Hope you clear all the vegetation from under the deck and give yourself some clearance between the brush and foliage to help protect from fire hazard. With trees so close, I would consider a sprinkler system, just in case.
Well done on all your hard work! You built a cabin, you filmed and edited! I appreciate all the effort you've put into this. Cheers!

Yeah! Hopefully that helped. Only ever using these railings on my homes moving forward.
Great innovative idea with the railings and cables. I’m going to reach out to you regarding a project in Africa
We are looking into doing the same on the log cabin we are building. The more I see the more I like this system

Fantastic videos, just found you Devon. 1 thing, what was the total cost?
It's looking good! I think we are going with the Barrette rail system for ours. Can't wait to see the next video, did you film a lot of the interior rough in process? I was really looking forward to seeing have you handled plumbing, electrical, and airflow!

there's another video which shows the home right before insulation, but in my final walkthrough video I'll make sure to highlight airflow, that was a big part when I was designing this home!
Can you attach the posts on top of trex decking? (using long lag bolts to go into the framing obviously)
@devonloerop

Yes, you much go into the framing!
Devon do you have funding/investors ? ?
ever thought about painting the cables black? they’ll “disappear” - it’s kinda like magic (learned this from chicken keepers and painting hardware cloth to see into coops a lot better.)

Not a bad idea, but I do like the look of stainless steel. Really cool contrast against black
You did an excellent job!!!
What kinda clothes is that to wear (exposed knees) in the middle of the winter. Looks like it's quite a bit warmer than normal though.

Wouldn't you just start on the opposite side of the tensioner? That way you save the wasted time of the back and forth!
@devonloerop
3 ай бұрын
I did try that on a few passed but I had to cut the cables multiple times and then sometimes the cable didn't set all the way into the crimp. So this way I have the cable fully seated in the tensioner and the end T-bracket.
