In response to Allan Rose, I believe Chad's approach is borne out of his Discovery Channel experience, where he had 30 days to complete whatever he started. I also believe that everything will eventually be completed. But in the meantime, he's interested in teaching and sharing how he does things. Completely finishing a project is not his goal in my belly button opinion. It's not the destination. It's the journey. And we're all along for the ride.

Glad to see your wearing a dust mask buddy. I'm 70 yrs old with COPD from not protecting my lungs years ago. Now i can't do anything, it gets worse every year so keep wearing it dude. Jolene don't you stand there filming if the air in the room is full of dust. Set up fans to suck it out of the room or you wear one also! Thats the Hiltz safety meeting for the day!

Hi chad and Jolene, I'm currently working on a 1980 Ford mark 5 cortina with two doors. I'm from the UK, and love to follow your 1958 Ford thunderbird and I absolutely adore it, absolutely brilliant I must say. Your knowledge is second to none and all your skills, including your attitude. You explain everything in detail and how it is; straight to the point. Honestly I've learnt more than I ever have before especially on body filling and preparation. I watch your videos everyday, it's become part of my routine. I have to say, Jolene's welding is fantastic. What a brilliant woman. God bless.

Thanks again for the lessons. I've been told that if you don't learn something new every day, you've wasted a day. The little jig with your ditty gave more than just Jolene a giggle. I think its healthy for an adult to be a little silly by times. Keeps your inner child smiling. I'm working on a trike and these body work tips are invaluable. I hope it turns out as good as the picture in my head!! I think you are keeping Fina out of the shop because of the dust, that stuff isn't good for lungs, good on you for masking up, I hope Jolene did as well. I'll be looking for you tomorrow.

I never thought about the fillers having variances in hardness🤔. I had found going back and filling small areas never worked well on fenders with compound curves and reverse curves. 1960-64 Corvairs I found cut best using airfile with standard blocking crisscross pattern working in the body lip all around the car. Great episode, thank you! hance

This is great. it's so helpful to see in real-time how long this process takes. So often we watch stuff on KZread and think "that looks like fun, I could do that" then when we try to do it ourselves we find out, "wow, this takes a long time". I remember watching "This Old House" back in the day and thinking "Home remodeling looks like fun" But Bob Villa had Norm doing all the actual work off camera. I don't have a Norm to do my work.

I was thinking a window from a 1960 to a 1965 Ranchero or maybe a 1964 -1974 el Camino would work. Oh yeah forgot to say where we’re from. Chad. Consider using a vacuum with a hepa filter. It removes the dust rather than moving it around by brushing. Also keeps dust down from the air....your being, lungs and all your shop space. We do this in my construction business. Vac all the time sweep very little. Ends up saving time overall and makes for a nicer work space.

I’m in Oakville, Ontario. Seeing this car in bare metal makes me think it came from a custom shop, not a standard automobile maker. It must have been a challenge for the original production team to pull off. Today, all cars in a classification have a similar wheelbase, sight lines, passenger compartment, Etc. Plus, when the shape is tested to get a certain coefficient of drag, it’s easy to see why we all get the same thing! Anyway,, this ‘T-4-2’ is a beauty. Cheers, guys.

Love the T-Bird look, as far as the back window, no doubt in my mind, Chad will not be looking for any specific car's rear window, he will go to a junk yard and walk around and see something he thinks would look good. And when he is done, it will end up looking good. My opinion is I don't like the idea of the porthole windows, as it will definitely change the look of the top. I also would not reinstall the chrome strips at the base of the side of the top. Love the daily videos, from Ohio.
