The moment of truth: does the back seat (or hood) still fit? 😬
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
Since we shortened the roof 12.5" and had to modify the back window section we're curious if the back seat interior will even still fit. If it does, we'll use it but if it doesn't then I guess we have no choice but to make it a 2 seater. Then we're going to try on the hood for the first time since we repaired the front section. Cross your fingers for us!!! 😬

That updated back window looks so much better now.
Need to add shims between hinge and bonnet which will lower the bonnet. As the hinges are in a slot, the shim will lower the front of the bonnet and allow the bonnet to open without hitting in the middle front, also the gaps will then be able to be made smaller😊

No, needs to loosen the hinge bolts on the body and lower the hinge, possibly even tip the hinge forward on the body.

@@barrybloggs9474 With cars that have the pocket style of hinges, by adding a shim it effectively lowers the bonnet. Shims were actually fitted as part of the manufacturing process on doors bonnets etc. the hinges where mounted to the car adjusts the height to raise the bonnet, whilst the shims lower the bonnet.
Fina was inspecting the back seat ...she is a good girl never gets in trouble..... Jolene have you.taken a ride in your corrvette yet.that is a very pretty cool car.🚗🚗🚗🚗🚗😁😁😁😁
Chad and Jolene the Tbird is shaping up most of the cars in the fifty’s and sixty’s the back rest of the seat is installed first and fastened at the bottom then the bottom seat goes in and the interior side panels are mounted in first before the seat goes in
The way that Chad moves into and out from the car - he looks like a 20 year old. Great guy.
This build is firing on all cylinders now. Glad to see the attention to detail and aesthetics.
The hood and deck lid should fit just fine. The seat may have to go. Chad has this under control for sure. Jolene is working her magic with the video. Doug is a great addition to the shop.

What are you talking about? That backseat fits perfectly!
Jolene your camera work is truly better than any other TV car show I've ever watched.
Its going together, youre fighting 50s Ford build quality or lack of it and somebody else pulled it apart and reassembled it already. Doug is a real handy guy to have around an extra pair of hands that has a clue is awesome.
Fina is going to love her seat. Still a family car. Neat.
Very good all going well Doug is a very handy chap to have about. Well done with the camera Jolene. I did notice poor Jolene try to give Chad some of advice about fitting the seat which Chad made a joke of, good advice may I say! Cheers from the UK.

Great on the back seat chad,,no worry’s on any leg room, it looks great an I think no one will be rideing back there anyway other then fina,,Doug is good help,,hi to Jolene an fina,,luv you guys,,👍👍😀
Nailed it Chad. The portholes look great now as they are aligned with the side and rear window, No doubt in my mind. Thank you, take care and peace out!!
FINA will fit just fine in that seat!!
30 years ago we used to use a BFH and a 2x4 to bend the hood edges. Old Skool .

If you can't fix it with a hammer it's an electrical problem !!
You should have mounted the back of the set first then put the bottom in

Why?
Hi Chad and Jolene….calling from the UK. North east England…just to let you know, I watch your tube videos every morning with my breakfast. You start my day. The ‘Bird’ is coming along nicely….love the colour black but Jolene’s idea is the best.
WOW, room for Fina and grandchildren.
DOUG'S a great helper! We love Doug and happy for Chad 🎉

Good to have Doug around to help , he's done a lot of work off camera ,it's coming along quite nice now ,Jolene as always great camera work
Ovel out the hinge mounts where it bolts to body so u can push passenger side hood down more. To get rid of the hood sticking up...

Or just use some shims! Wherever the people put them when they took em out and moved the car all over the country
Fina will like the back seat just fine I bet.
Absolutely love this channel, thanks Chad and Jolene , so authentic, I feel like part of the crew when I watch
Candy apple red and black two tone would look amazing. Loving the build
I’m glad to see you have an extra pair on hands. You to seem to get along fine and work well together.
Chad I know that you will do it and do it right and I have all the confidence in you that it will be done and done right. Jolene I want to say hi to you and you are doing a great great job with the camera. I wish you all a 3 a blessed evening and night. God bless
Chad,,,,,, that right side bracket, just rim the holes a little longer then you can lower the bracket more. Great job videoing Jolene/ Nice you have Doug helping.
Save the back for a "FINA" seat !👌🐈
I think I would have made some adjustment at the hinge instead of beating the metal

Show us how it's done badass
Chad and jolene I think that was cool the way you got the back seats to fit back into the car its saved you a lot of your time not having to make some to fit in. It's a shame that the people who tuck the hood off hadn't drilled the hindges it would have been so much easier to get the hood back in the right place. Keep up the great work the both of you 👏 👍
I painted a car black then black flake. It looked black in the shade, and wow in the light. You both can be happy. Dodge had a 2006 srt8 Charger Black pearl small chip flake color that really popped under streetlights. You could always add more chip when mixing.
The back window looks great now I like it much much better kinda looks like a 57 Ranchero back window looks great man and the portholes just added to the job completely very good my hats off to you and Julian wanna job congratulations a job you should be real proud of have a nice evening
Great progress! Thanks.
It is really coming together Chad and Jolene. The benefit of Doug helping you guys out is definitely a bonus. He is really achieving. I am in Awe of what you are doing. It looks Amazing.
the fact that the back seats and everything fits perfect is insane' Chad is a wizzard with these chop jobs' looks great cant wait to see paint laid on this beauty
Be great having such a great help, thanks for sharing, all the best to yous and your loved ones
I agree with Queen Jolene on the black with metal flake. The hood can be very tricky to get right. Good thing he has Doug there to help him.
Doug is in the house ! Hi Doug! Chad your hood fits ! It came off so it has to go back on you didn't change anything . But lining it up is sometimes a hard thing to do . My experience with it is try not to over think it Justus it on then decide if it needs adjustments .Thumbs-up guys have a great day I'll be back tomorrow Jolene !

Exactly study long study wrong!
Amazing job on the rear seat. Still a great place for the kids to cruise in... 👍
usually fitting hoods n decklids the mount bolts and bracket bolts are JUST loose [no more] then fit latch and secure it down on latch,,then slide panel around so lines are good and tighten and test..youre garenteed that the latch is correct then slide so lines are good
I would have never believed that back seat was going to fit back in there . I love it 😁👍
I like how Chad is what you see is what you get no BS I enjoy watching him I have been watching him from the beginning never miss a episode
Elongate the holes in the hinges to drop the front of the hood.
Thunderbird’s always have a large gap. Especially front hinged hinges Even British classic cars triumph,Jaguar,MG Aston Martins. You are good on gap Chad
Absolutely love watching this custom car come together.
Im loving this build Chad, for the paint, How about metallic charcoal with a black tinted clearcoat for the color.
@jerryparks6123
Жыл бұрын
Chad mentioned using metal flake , NOT metallic! There's a BIG difference!
It's cool that tall you lost was the package self. This will look factory once it's done because it is factory parts. If I remember right you have a set of full seat covers that came with the car too if they need to get changed.
Throw a couple of axle stands under the rear frame, that squeak would have driven me bonkers days ago. Its a short drive these days. LOL I'm surprised your putting in the back seat, but it will be a great place for Fina. I think people would be hitting their heads on the rear glass, if not, it will be real close. Looking better all the time. Let Doug paw through the bolts buckets, he may find shims that go on the hood hinges and the same for the trunk.
Chad you need to take the bottom of the set out and then you can put the back of the set in first then you can put the bottom of the seat back in place and it will work just fine and the upper panel will fit back in to place
Chad you may find that the pivot point of the hood where there is a bolt or a rivet is worn and needs to be replaced. That causes the hood to bee higher than it should be. Worth a check.
your trying to fit hood to fenders Chad. Try fitting fenders to hood. Try using 1/8" spacers to begin. hood center needs to be at or slightly below the front cowel
Amazing creation. I was very skeptical of what you were doing but as usual you have created something amazing.
Couldn't imagine trying to adjust the hood after it was painted!!!! well done guys!
Oh yeah, I like it! Good decisions on the changes!

Hey killer job on the back seat trim showing once again that eyeing things your so talented with an your nitch over alot of builders awesome fit
Looking good fun building great seeing Doug and Joelle
ANOTHER WONDERFULLY DONE JOB
You need to have shirts made with some of the things you say. Like “If ya know what I’m tryin ta tell ya” and “ woke up a 7 1/2 lookin like a 10”
Good call on the back window and the back seat. Looks good!
No doubt in my mind you are the man Chad. Driver's door needs to be installed to check that alignment then possibly raise front of fenders. Just my opinion. Enjoy watching everyday.
Another trick is to open the hood all the way up until you feel resistance then 😊 force the hood up by pushing up the rear. This will spring the hinge thus lowering the hood in front. Works on doors that stick out beyond the front fender line.
The backrest is supposed to go in first the the seat cushion.

Who told you that?! Maybe in a 70s car or newer
Back window looks a lot better 👍
Looks great!
Paint it,... any color,...just paint it 😉. I was so looking forward to a Bad Chad painted vehicle (completed) after Chad got back from Australia. The completed cars there look fantastic.
I don’t think you’ll hear any complaints from Fina about the back seat as long as she has enough room to curl up and see out those port holes. 😊
back window looks awesome. keep up the great work
That Doug is a good hand to have around. Holy mackerel look at that door jam on the roof that's going to need some repair
finia now has a ride... that's her area...
Keep up the good work Bud looking forward to seeing the 351

FINA WOULD LIKE ___ A back seat --- IN the one of a kind prototype ?
@davidmorrison3697

They could put a seat in the back and make it a 3 seater. A nice place for Fina to go along with the ride.
You can adjust the front clip up, rather than the hood down.
@classactkirk
Жыл бұрын
Yup!! Figure that out before you bang on hood anymore.
Without shimming those bolts on the hood you have the hood front set to it’s highest. A couple of washers if you can get them in would drop it a least a 1/4 if not a piece of flat bar slid in the hinge holders would work before bolting down. Looking good though
It's all in the details ! Nice.
Buen trabajo, esta quedando de show, lo que quiero es verlo pintado. Pienso que se vería de maravilla. Mejor que cuando nuevo.
Looking good!! I love black, but I'm a suckered for flake!!! 🍻
Once the back piece and back seat is bolted in, I think it will look fine!
Look at that looks great
Love this build. I do hate hanging doors and hoods.
good job looks good😎
Love this video !!!
It definitely fits legit! Looks great keep on rolling! Can't wait till this old bird is done will be one of a kind!
Might have to slot the holes in the lower hinges.

Hello guys I love how it's coming along nicely done Chad been watching from the start thanks for sharing love it blessings cheers from Queensland Australia 🇦🇺
This is great content the backseat fits and sure like the fact that you are going to do some priming soon
Looking AWSOME as usual....
That square-back top made the back seats still possible - looks great :) !
Back window looks perfect big improvement. Your idea of sinister black would be the perfect color. Maybe tinted side windows, back window and port holes along with louvers over the port holes would complete the sinister look.
Good job keep it up. Hello Doug good video Jolene.
I think you're both right with the color ideas...So the body of car black and the roof flake paint job .. You both get wat u want..
It's looking real good. 👍💕❤️
The lower hinge mounting to the core support needs to be lowered instead of beating the hell out of the hood!!!
I'm glad the back seat still fits perfectly. ✅ Great job guys 👍
