If you skip the step where you go into properties and put in space -w skip that step and the game will load up normally. You do not need to download the edge scroller. Go into your game settings while you are playing and adjust how big you want the screen to be.

Tysm for this tutorial! I’m glad the video helped you and you’re welcome! I believe they only have the Katy Perry expansion pack. I recommend getting the sims 3 base game and dlcs from steam. They usually go on sale from time to time and you won’t have to use the ea app to play. However, you’ll have to read a guide on how to fix it since it doesn’t run on modern pc’s.

When I try to install the game I get "checksum error in the sims 2". I can close it and continue installing, but later It shows "setup needs the next disk. Please specify the location of the next disk. Please insert disc: 1 with setup-2.bin" OK so my only option is local disk C and I click on it. When I click on it, literally nothing happens, I can't do anything, and when I exit it, game crashes and I have to do everything again. I don't know much about computers, what should I do?

The -w is suppose to help you launch the actual game it self without getting errors. If the game doesn’t show up on broderless gaming, launch the game then open the borderless gaming app OR launch borderless gaming and then launch the game. The borderless gaming app can be a bit finicky at times, you have to work your way around that.

You’re welcome! That’s their shadows, you can turn it off through the settings or install a mode to fix it. I personally just turn it off.

I made a video on how to install the ikea expansion pack. This should help guide you with that. If you want to install the base game and the DLC’s separately, then just search up the sims 2 and you’ll find the base game and all the DLC’s. Follow that video that I made to help you out. :)

I remember i did this and it worked fine, then ea contacted me through email threatening to sue or take me to court or something so i scrubbed my pc of it. I want to play the sims 2 so bad, but i am not looking to spend copious amounts of money through cds or codes only for it not to work.😭 I hate ea for making it so difficult to access, wish there was a safer and legal way!

Why did they threaten to sue? lol. I wish that too! I feel like calling this “pirating” is a bit of an exaggeration. It’s not like ea has the game for us on the store, so this isn’t preventing them from earning money. There is no way for you to get the game, unless you want a physical copy which is way overpriced now these days. If ea had the game on their store and it was remastered, I would buy it, but that won’t happen because they want players to buy their new games. :/

@@Kayotic2104 I know it’s so frustrating, honestly i’m not sure why they contacted me when i’m sure hundreds if not thousands have pirated many of the sims games, don’t even know how their legal team or whoever found out and directly emailed me.😭💔 Very strange. I understand if you are afraid to get sued by them but I doubt that you will get any shady emails from them by following this method. it’s fine if you still don’t want to try it out, I’ll respect that.🦭 that’s very nice of you, thank you!

Hello! This worked perfectly, thank you for the tutorial! Although, im having some issues. So the game started perfectly, and ive been playing it for about 2 days now, but it suddenly began crashing randomly. Like i dont really understand why. I dont have a lot of space left could that be it? It just keeps crashing when i get to a certain point. Like for example, my sim has a husband and 2 kids, and like its always as soon as her husband and kid go to school/work, it crashes a few minutes later. Do you know how i can fix it? Thanks!

You’ll probably find a fix for that problem if you look for it on Google or KZread.

Within the game there are quite serious visual bugs and I cannot increase the resolution to more than 800. THIS IS NOT EXPLAINED IN THE VIDEO :v

Yeah, because this video explains how to INSTALL the game and launch it. You won’t need to change the resolution in game, if you use borderless gaming because it already does it for you. If your screen resolution is different, then you’ll be able to change it through that app as well. The visual bugs can be fixed by mods. I’m working on making a video about fixing the UI and what not, it’s not done but it’s coming sometime in the future.

Try installing the 4gb patch. I’ve heard that it helps. If that doesn’t work, you’ll find a solution on Reddit. I’ve only had that problem, when I was playing the EA version, but installing the game this way stopped it from happening. Which is why I didn’t include a fix.

I don’t know why it’s like that but I’ve had to wait a whole day. I just left my pc running over night.

It won't let me run the game

I followed all of the steps, once i double click the icon on my desktop to play the game it launches, show the normal video montage, then gets to the loading screen and freezes. Then windows says it is not responding. Anyone else having this issue? :/

@@AhoyCaptaiin yes, that’s normal. It happens to me too. If it freezes just wait till it unfreezes. Don’t start clicking on the game or anything because it won’t fix itself.

hmm, thats weird...That's not suppose to happen since there is no instilation code on the website itself. I've installed my game from that same website many times and it never aasked me for a code. I'm sorry but I can't help because I haven't encountered that issue myself and I don't know how to solve it. However, I hope you'll find something that will help you out!
