Another fun fact: 98% of the time cpr does not work, and you often have to break ribs while preforming it. This is one of the reasons my moms friend ( she and my moms are nurses) has dnfr (do not fucking resuscitate) tattoo on her chest.

Also, CPR doesn’t restart the heart by some magical bullshit; it’s to keep blood going to the brain to keep it alive so it can restart the heart. The defibrillator shuts off the heart to give the brain an opportunity to restart it in a better rhythm than it was. Defibrillators are only supposed to shock on pulseless ventricular tachycardia and ventricular fibrillation; shocking a flatline, known as asystole, doesn’t accomplish anything.
