FASTER THAN LIGHT: The Dream of Interstellar Flight 4k

Ғылым және технология

Next-generation rocket technology, now in development, is fueling the dream of traveling across the void by exploiting the physics of extreme speed.
The dream of venturing into the unknown, to see what's over the horizon, is as old as humanity. Today scientists believe our galaxy is filled with planets similar to Earth. But if one proves habitable, how will we ever get there? Can NASA take us? What are futuristic engineers conjuring up in their labs? Next-generation rocket technology is not just for blockbuster movies. It's on the drawing board now as scientists investigate the mind-bending physics of extreme speed.

They are not mutually exclusive. In fact, space research has already benefited Earth. Given that our population is increasing, it also makes sense that we colonize other worlds. Material science has also already advanced since production of material in space allows for material properties that cannot be replicated under the gravity of Earth as experiments on the ISS have shown. This will likely benefit medical science as well.

It's even worse than that, but the average person's education in science is genuinely parroting what they see and hear on TV, and taking it all on faith, we are brainwashed into believing we understand things at a common sense level but are patently wrong. *My formal education requires relativistic quantum mechanics, condensed matter physics and classical mechanics, and the grim truth behind the way we're being robbed blind by NASA for 70-million dollars a day is truly sickening, but trying to reason with the average person is a lost cause.* We will never send human beings to Mars. With current technology, we will never send man to the moon. Mankind has been brainwashed into believing the ruling class can actually control nature, but it's all a lost cause. *What we need to focus on is the health of our species and the pollution we're installing directly into our immediately surrounding environment.* The last 2 generations are riddled with misfits due to exposure to these chemicals like atrazine and now, a percentage believe they are the opposite gender they scientifically and factually are. NASA should be privatized, stripped up their budget and that money used to help solve that problem and more.

How far and how fast? Sadly, not very far and not very fast. We have made almost zero progress in propulsion since the 1960s. We are still using chemical rockets, which will struggle to even reach another nearby, planet and forget the outer solar system. It still takes decades to send a small, unmanned probe. Sure, we can find exoplanets, getting good at that but we have zero options for getting there.

One more observation.... Among the life giving components needed for life, one of course is water. On other Planets water will need to be fully explored, top to bottom. However we seem to overlook exploring our own bodies of water fully, top to bottom. Wouldn't we need to master exploring our own bodies of water, developing new technology through innovation and discovery: (1) to explore our own planet and (2) to give us the ability to explore water elseware Yes, the mystery of space is alluring, and now we can see more of it using the JWST. When is the science and space community going to produce someone who has enough "STROKE" to get them to realize this. I did not mention Hydrology or Oceanography because I believe they know this already.

Many propulsion methods, one more expensive and more complicated than the other, instead of following the reverse engineering method discovered by Bob Lazar in the S4 area! In addition, none of these methods can ensure a trip in a reasonable time. The only solution is to travel through a space-time rupture as Bob Lazar said that the ships researched by the Americans in the S-4 area do, namely the technology to "break" the space-time fabric creating a "rupture/hole through which the ship can travel much faster than the speed of light to huge distances in a few hours or days.

"Faster than light", besides breaking up physics as far as causality goes, brings you nowhere far. We'd need to go much, much faster to actually nibble into deep space.

At those speeds (near light-speed) even hydrogen gas in space becomes a brick wall. Either we create ships that are multi-generational to travel to other worlds or we figure out ways to live hundreds if not thousands of years.

You can't at least not anywhere in the near future. By the time you would detect an object on a collision course with you at multiple speeds of light, it would be too late and you'd already be dead. Matter instantaneously reconfigured into energy once again! Much faster than light technologies of all types would need to be developed to make this collision avoidance tech possible. Fortunately space is mostly empty and it seems inter-dimensional travel via quantum physics would be more likely. And when we do get to these life supporting planets in other galaxies, then what. We find highly sophisticated beings that could be nasty, ugly, warring in nature (even worse than us), don't want us there, and think we are low life form pests - like viruses. With that level of tech they would exterminate us like we do to bugs and unwanted bacteria and viruses. Certainly makes me want to live in a confined space ship for centuries!! Or not!! All this is a giant pipe dream to keep thousands of university students in piles of grant money living a cushy life of research while many people world wide are starving and need that money to exist and survive - today, not into the future. Any way you shake it, it is still about greed and money, profit, not a sense or wonderment for pure research. No one with a brain believes that or ever will.

In Star Trek they use something call the "Deflector Dish" which produces a navigational shield ahead of the ship and also provides sensor data of the matter ahead of the ship for navigation.

@@krwilesScience fiction gives us many ideas on what technology might become and how it would benefit us in the here and now along with the future. As it is, this type of technology might not ever be seriously possible. On the other-hand, you never know. We have a giant dynamo sitting in the center of our planet made of iron which creates our magnetic field. Keep something in mind that it doesn't keep everything out. several tons of space stuff falls from space every year. Also, the faster you go, the faster you crash into an object even with deflector shields. At those speeds, a pebble would have enough energy to explode a star. I'm sorry but there has to be a better way. We just haven't thought about it yet. So the best way to make it to other Galaxies is by observing them as they were when their light left them to travel to us.

What’s going to happen to our species when we leave our Planet behind ? True Earth is the cradle for us humans, but nobody stays in the cradle for a lifetime. We are going to leave our monkey shell behind and sail off into eternity with our quantum computers, and advanced mathematics.😊

@@terrytwotoes3225 Sorry, I do not distinguish between those two. In astrophysics, a wormhole is a black hole that can be travelled through. A black hole would be infinitally heavier, as all absorbed matter is retained within. Spaghettification should happen with both, I reckon. However, this is still highly theoretical...
