If you wrap tape around the bottom of the stem with the sticky side out, it works really well to stop ants and mites. I had to use it on my broccoli plants one year and it completely stopped the mites. Even putting some near the top caused the mites that were already on the plant to get stuck too and the mite problem went away entirely for the remainder of the season (about 2-3 months). It also works well to stop ticks from crawling up your pants and/or your legs also. They usually latch on to your feet/shoes and or pant legs and then crawl their way up... so having tape on your ankles and thighs can stop them completely if you're walking. I'm not sure if there's a way to protect against them if you sit or lay down in the grass/bushes though or if you're hiking through thick, tall brush. They don't normally fo very high on brush/plants, but they can and do on occasion.

The connie mayer I planted back in June has seen amazing growth, already starting to fill in the umbrella trellis, the same can be said about the cosmic charlie I planted back in August. Also while this is unrelated to the video, I found that connie mayer may be resistant to some of the fungi that attack my other varieties, I never need to do much maintenance with that plant. Great video!

Thanks. Connie is almost as fast as Bruni in my experience. KVA is a bit slower... I agree. Cosmic Charlie and other varieties with the undatus gene seem to get more "rust" in our area this time of year due to the fog.
