Fast Cabinet assembly!

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

This video showcases how fast and easy a cabinet box made from #mozaik can be assembled. I currently have mozaik setup to make my cabinet boxes with blind dados all out of 3/4” pre finished plywood.
Before using this method (blind dados) I used pocket holes and butt joints and had to use jigs to hold the boxes together. I was always fumbling with assembly and now it just goes together so easily! #cabinetmaking #cabinetassembly #cabinetry

Titebond, Quick and Thick! That works well for no runs! Nice video bud. Mozaik here as well.

This seems like a much faster and less labor intensive than doing this by hand with your normal hand tools. I have built several cabinets for my shop as well as dressers etc. So labor intensive and so much room for error. Thanks for making the videos over Mozaik! Now to order a CNC and get the Mozaiz software haha

Yea mozaik definitely takes a lot of the work out of it! Just have to double and triple check to make sure I didn’t design something wrong lol 😂

That's awesome! Such a great way to improve productivity and it sets the stage for you to be able to hire some day labor if you have a lot of cabinets to assemble for a job. Any thoughts on shipping out unassembled cabinets to diy customers?

Yes this type of cabinet design would definitely allow for me to teach and hire someone if that day comes! Flat packing and shipping would be pretty easy with setup too. Maybe make a more detailed video with a QR code as instructions.

Nice, Do hardware before assembly will save more time. If you start using edge tape, assemble face up so you don't damage the tape.

So this cabinet set up is for frame less? I am just getting ready to build my 1st cabinet. it will most likely have a face frame but this is also a very interesting way. Nice job

Im starting to now build them with 3/4 backs all dados(tenon) or whatever they called , seams like strong and simple way to assemble with glue and few nails . I was making them with 1/4 backs and back nailers for about 4 years but now finally got the atc on my cnc so opens up some possibilities,,

Is there a reason you use plywood vs melamine? Just curious

  • @NolanBuilt

I haven’t had any customers choose the melamine option. It’s a cheaper option but they want the plywood option.

The only reason is, that customers, have a wrong idea, about melamine vs plywood, if you are able to explain all benefits, that melamine brings, they will switch to the best option, Wood is not stable, and might worsts damage in front of moisture and water, melamine is stable, easy to clean, no need extra cost on finishing and might be life time warranty under normal use, slides will work efficiently all the time, plywood might get bowed reducing working time of drawer slides and door hinges. Melamine, can be cleaned with paint thinner, alcohol or acetone, without any damage. Melamine needs less structural items, for faster assembly and lower cost of materials.

I am not trying to be a troll or anything. With 33yrs of experience I can tell you that is not fast for high cabinet production. Nail and screw is much quicker. However it maybe be fast enough depending on how many boxes you need to build in a day. We use Mozaik as well.
