ABOUT ME
I’m 32 years old and I’m a sheep farmer from Ayrshire in South West Scotland, which is why I have such a strong accent! I was born and raised on a sheep farm watching my dad who was the shepherd.
At 18 I went away from farming to work in the city (something I still do) and at 23 (2013) I decided I wanted to do something for some extra money so I went on a sheep shearing course. The hardest thing I’ll ever do was learning to shear sheep. [shudders thinking about it]
I shore whilst on my holidays from work for 2 years and then in 2015 my dad died so I decided to get my own sheep so I could continue working with sheep as it was something I loved doing. From there it escalated quickly from my first 4 sheep in my mum’s garden to now running around 850 breeding ewes.
I shore over 19,000 sheep this season in the UK and have my own shearing run which lets you see many different farms in the summer months.
A few years ago I bought myself a sheep pregnancy scanner and have been building up my run since then.
I watched a few farm vlogs on KZread and decided I could have a go and now here we are!
Thanks for watching my videos and please subscribe if you want to see more in future.

It’s one in the morning here in Seattle. 🌧 Hooray for insomnia! And hooray for Cammie and his lambs in rainy Scotland. 🏴

That double decker trailer really is slick. I dont think I've ever seen one here in the US. It makes so much more sense when you're transporting smaller stock so you can get twice as many animals in at once. The huge livestock haulers have multiple levels, but I haven't seen a regular stock trailer like that.
That is some racket! You did well with your lambs this year! I'm happy for you. I'm amazed you get such weights on grass alone.
Wow such a beautiful sky and land❤️
Well done Cammy! Lovely surprise getting on and finding a new episode. ❤️🇦🇺🏴
Good morning Cammy. It’s just after 4 a.m. in middle Georgia USA. This was a great video to wake up to. I want to send Lizzy my best in her late pregnancy. Hoping all is going well!!!! ♥️

I can understand why NZ lamb is prised in Canada as it is meat from grass. We like it here too. My own lambs were of the same quality but now that I am retired, if I have a choice, when shopping I choose NZ over Welsh lamb as it is a reliable product.
Enjoying the vids and the older ones great too. Hope you're having a good fall. My sons really like the 'catching a big ram' vid we must have watched it 30 times.

A boy Cammy another good video 👍🏻. No point dwelling on past prices you couldn't have known about price difference between then & now, like you said that's sheep farming for ya. You're priorities are right, family expanding soon & you already have enough sheep to look after so selling those lambs was a must. You done well, lambs were looking well too.

It is a noise business going to market. Hopefully you do well there. Good job apparently, Cammy. Always fun to watch you.🥰
Good video, don't know why I watched it but I grew up on a working dairy farm and somehow felt at home here......
I really enjoy the market videos, and the work in back of the ring. Things are done quite differently here in the sales I have been to in Missouri. For one thing the seller is responsible for his own sorting and they have ring"men" , which are sometimes ladies, that go in the ring when animals are sold. I think the seller in the ring with their own animals is a much better idea.
As you said, some you win, some you loose. That's any type of farming. My yard is like the Okifanoke swamp still. My lawn mower man said he got bogged at several places he mows. Poor wee manie. (I'm talking about average house blocks in Australia, not farm acres. ) My sister came back from her outlaws place the other side of the mountains 10 days ago (the Murray River side) & stopped at a big water storage Dam. She took photos of water pouring across the spill way. I think it is only the second time in it's existence. Love to all, Joolz.

I've not seen the duel deck trailers here in Australia mate, not for sheep anyway. Most use a standard trailer with a cage for the sheep and dual decks are usually reserved for the lorries.
I just love the look of the Suffix sheep in Scotland. American version has to much Dorset in them. They have far longer legs and longer bodies with the same markings.

Good video that must have been a massive sale between weanling calves and store lambs fat lambs bit back on price too👍
I totally understand about the racket. When the newly-weaned calves or their mums are pastured across the road from my house, they tend to keep me awake at night for the first two days!
Good morning from 🇨🇦 Your plate is full and you can't predict what the market will go right now. They are Richard's concern now. Only seen double decker trailers for the big lorry in Canada. Sandi could do well with one of those. Hope all goes well for the delivery and take care.

I often wonder how you got them up the top of carrier. Now I know.
I don’t understand the logic behind the design of American trailers. Marissa is fitting in well, and yes, there is a lot they don’t teach at college, I guess that is why they send them out for experience, some good and some regrettably horrendous. I am sure your student is getting the best experience.
Morning Cammy hope Lizzie is keeping well and little jock is being a menace he’s a right bonnie loon. Take care xx

Didn't appear that there were many buyers in the seats...but in the end you make a decision and move on...
🤣🤣I was getting a little concerned there for a minute. I thought this was a "sheep" only market and heard nothing but cattle bawling. Figuring the sheep were changing their tunes.....
That ua is crazy busy market for sure.
You know what you do with your animals, I think if you didn’t lost money you can sell because you make money and the filds can recuperate and sometimes the weather conditions is changing and you don’t know what will happen. Greats from Uruguay.

Narr not too late mate, it is what it is with the prices! Your still ahead of your target. Are you recording which ewes are producing fats vs stores and off what ground on flock watch??

No i'm just not well enough organised to record all that info. I might try a bit more one day.
Ps that's a good price wouldn't hardly pay you to give them meal to finish 🤔
Do you deduct the mart commission from the prices you show?

Question: the gentleman working at sorting out the wee sheepies (the man you kept telling him to, "Don't look at me! Don't turn around!" So funny, lol. But you called him a "gaffer." Is that what a gaffer is? I've heard the term before (thank you, "Lord of The Rings"), but never knew what it meant. Is that right? Is that what a gaffer does?

@@georgedoorley5628 they want 17-19kg here in New Zealand, which is interesting as lots gets exported to the uk. you'd think they'd be wanting to meet the market. Don't you feel remorse for your crimes against these innocent creatures? Don't you see that they love life like you and don't want to die? Don't you see how much they are afraid of dying and scream out of fear? Do you want someone to treat you and your family or loved ones like this? If you have an iota of compassion and conscience, stop this dirty work. (Eating meat is a crime
