Farm windmill failure explained. I describe how a stiffer spring arm might have prevent loss of a blade. The shedded blade held the magnet/magnet holder that served to activate the Hall effect sensor that provided the rpm of the rotor. When the spring arm bent in the direction illustrated the magnet/magnet holder made violent contact with the Hall effect sensor and likely the spring arm itself and resulted in the blade separating from the rotor assembly.
