The Macdon headers are great especially in difficult conditions they present the crop the right way into the combine and being able to pick up laid stuff.
Thank you Andrew for letting us see how perfectly you run your farm, I must say I was very impressed with the Case a very impressive machine. If I was to choose between the case and the deere I would prefer the case. you and the team have coped with the wheat harvest very well in these testing conditions this year.

Hi Andrew Thank you for sharing your demo of the Case Combine with us. I found it very interesting and specially your input being the end user. It will be very interested to see which way you go when you purchase your next combine, specially with you being a long term New Holland user. It would be great to see you having a Class Combine on Demo and hear your opinion on it. It would be great, if you put together a spreadsheet of for’s and against of the combines, (similar to what you did with the drills) with your honest conclusion of them as a end user. Once again thank you.

Apologies, it would of made the video too long.
The header is the best on the market for sure and the combine looked well thought out and quick. The narrower tracks are definitely better for keeping the width down. Ground pressure will depend on the actual contact area so a longer track helps, obviously depending on weight. Higher end sprockets would reduce the stress in turns too I’d imagine. Overall an impressive machine 👍
Great video andrew, that combine doing a very impressive job, your need the header back for the baked beans. Rueben spoke more on this video than ever before. Only one beacon working when tom was rolling when he passed you. We havent seen Rhonda bring the harvest supper out yet!!

Great Video. Nice to see those two combines together. If possible, can you answer me some questions? We're planning to swap from 5 walker into the rotor market and vary between Case (Midrange) and New Holland (CR980/90X0) and since it will be a used pre emission Combine, there will be no demo machine. I have read that NH handles high yielding small grains better and is easier to set than Case. Many say that with the Case machine you have to have to decide between higher losses or cleaner sample, because the single Rotor wouldn't load the sieves evenly. Basically Case shines in Corn and Beans und NH shines in small grains. But the settings looked normal to me and the Sample looked clean. I've seen in the comments, that you said the Case could (almost) keep up with the NH but you have also tweaked the NH a bit. Would you say the Case does a similar Job in threshing and cleaning and in the endresult there is no big difference or is it rather like the NH is the better combine for european conditions? And going later into the night did you notice a performance difference between the two?
@WardysWaffleAndrewWard

NH easy to set and we always get a good sample. Can’t comment when comparing to Case as didn’t have it long enough.

Is there any grain at all left where you sprayed glyphosate, or is it just empty straw? If any grain is left, what are the policies from buyers in the UK to accept those grains? Here in Sweden we would not be allowed to sell it if the grain had been treated with glyphosate that can be detected in the ready crop.
@WardysWaffleAndrewWard
10 ай бұрын
No grain at all, just straw. We are allowed to treat crops pre harvest with glyphosate but there are various latest application timings before harvest, cereal crops it’s 7 days.

My brother has a macdon header on the combine he is driving in the USA its a 40ft works fantastic other than you have to get out the cab to change from rigid to flex. Dont forget the macdon comes in yellow too 👍 in flat corn draper headers are amazing. We could have done with one this year to save cutting half the wheat in one direction 👍How was the top dog axial flow comparing to your New Holland?
@WardysWaffleAndrewWard
10 ай бұрын
Our NH is going really well this year and both the JD and Case could only just keep up with it but the fact we had 40hp extra put in the NH 4 years ago to take it to 603 hp might have a lot to do with it. Combining in one direction is not good for the soul, I’ve done it!
@elmton.john.1961.

I can also remember harvest's where the wheat and barley seemed to be flat to the ground on a regular basis, thank goodness technology has evolved.
Case looks amazing. Is there a such a thing as ‘the best’ combine or are they all basically just the same quality with the same functionality, why would you choose, say, Claas, New Holland, Case or John Deere? Is it just what the local dealer chooses to stock or personal preference, and do they have different price points in the market?
@WardysWaffleAndrewWard
10 ай бұрын
Claas and NH have been market leaders for years and probably still are but Case and JD are gaining ground and I don’t think any of the 4 are bad machines, some have features others don’t. To me I think it would come down to price.
Question: a Claas 8900/Jd x9 1100 vs. both CNH machines, who would have the edge in terms of fuel consumption, throughput, cost per ton? CNH still have a lot of catching up to do in terms of technology, grain tank size, unloading rate, separation area and comfort
@WardysWaffleAndrewWard
10 ай бұрын
No idea, sorry!
Very impressive! I didn't realise the Case is a single rotor, do they not do a twin rotor at all? How much bigger is the rotor compared to the twin rotor? I believe the case is direct drive not belt which saves on some belts and pulleys. I'm surprised at the amount of track that isn't in contact with the ground and i can see the reason why for the road but you'd think that could be altered for the field, electrically or hydraulically to give a bigger footprint. I love the spout end being thinner to allow a better directed flow into the trailer. Can the chopper incorporate a grain, seed crusher like Jake Freestone has on his JD? I can't remember what it's called but he says about it in one of last years harvest logs. Is there much difference in out put of the two combines and by how much roughly? Sorry for so many questions Andrew. All the best.
@WardysWaffleAndrewWard
10 ай бұрын
Only single rotors. A lot of cost to make the track able to go all on the ground. Our Quadtrac was like it. Most unloading spouts are terrible at puttting it in the trailer. The chopper is unreal but not sure about chopping weed seeds.
@roberthiggins6401
10 ай бұрын
@WardysWaffleAndrewWard If it's just chopping then it won't do seeds. Jake has some special thing on his, its bloody loud and I don't recall him showing the results. You'd have to look back at last year's harvest.
