Fantasmic! - Walt Disney World, Disney-MGM Studios 1999
I actually let out an auditable sigh when I discovered the Florida show in my tapes. Sure we tease this show for being less than the Disneyland version, but for the most part that is only because of a dozen things. For me it's the absence of the Peter Pan scene with the Columbia and that ...let's just say it's not the Mark Twain. The performers are fantastic in this, none of the critiques I have are with them for this show. But after growing up with the CA version, I think this falls in a lower tier. But for posterity, I'm happy to include in in this archive. If anything I'm glad I taped a peek of the amphitheater at the beginning in the daylight. That day we were able to get a backstage tour of the whole set up, very interesting to see a planned space for it that isn't smack dab in the middle of a decades old crowded park.

This show changed a lot! Especially the projection of the bubbles! I remember seeing the later version of the show in the late 2000s, and oooh boy! It scared me a lot!

Hey bud! I remember seeing it in the late 2000s! I don’t really see it in person anymore since it scared me as a kid. Also, the technology/projections/costumes/puppetry were different as well!

Unfortunately, Judge Claude Frollo's voice actor Tony Jay passed away in 2006 due to illness.

As much as I love it, I do think this version of Fantasmic needs an update... like REALLY bad! I think what it especially needs is a new dragon (like the one that Disneyland has).

Agreed fountains also need to be fixed I notice in the 1998 videos the fountains were super high and as years went on they got lower due to age
