Being iconic doesn't equate to skill. Ed Sheeran has a bunch of lyrics people remember, so does Mariah Carey, so does Drake. No one is putting any of those three in a top lyricists of all time list. Kanye's lyrics are great for his style, but if we're talking pure technical skill, then he's not the best

Kanye is certainly able to affect and move people through his lyrics, and he doesn't require the streaming numbers that Ed Sheeran or Drake have to make an impact. There's a difference between memorable and repeated to the point everyone remembers it.

Doggystyle one of my favorite albums but Snoop shouldnt have even made it past LL Cool J. At least he had multiple great albums, which Snoop didn't. Mama Said Knock You Out and Radio are two of the most influential albums in hip hop history too
