Arundhati Roy is not a syrian christian. Her father is a Bengali and hence as per syrian christian traditions she is not considered as a syrian christian even though her mother is a syrian christian and a divorcee and Arundhati was brought up in Kerala among syrian christian relatives etc.

Being a nasrani or kerala syrian christian is something in the DNA, in the blood, as for centuries they marry not even with other christians , changing your beliefs or religion doesnt change your ancestral heritage.

If Travancore remained as an independent country they would have been known as global personals Hereafter in Indian colonial rule the Keralites will go to oblivion
