Very little correction (eliminate missunderstandings): "the strongest AI at DATE OF THE GAME!" ;-)

I know this is 9 years late but couldn’t bonanza of moves his horse back to 1a to keep the same strength while also guarding against threat mates?

Good game.

Wow. I am surprised that Watanabe actually had trouble at some points in the game.

将棋も国際化したら、7六歩が7f歩とかになるのかな。

Thank you for this great review of the game. If this is one of the most historic games in Shogi history, then why have there not been more games with computer vs. top amateur players? Watanabe said the computer was below his level and he would still beat the computer in 10 years. If they played more games, Watanabe would better understand how Bonanza plays. Then he would win even faster.

at 15:50, the silver cant take the dragon because it is in check with the horse, so how come Banaza can take it?

Because the horse and the king are on the same side.

I think like he said in the vid its about speed. Watanabe had 2 pieces in the anaguma with a gold, rook and bishop in hand. While bonanza only had a silver on 2e and with the king on 1a although it is pretty much naked its just simply too far away to even make a threat.
