This famous lemon flavored yogurt cake is a real treat that delights the whole world! It's divine and so easy to make. The combination of lemony dough and airy yoghurt cream makes this cake irresistible. One bite of it is like a sunny day in your mouth and the ease of preparation makes it a real bakery favorite.
Ingredients
🍰 Dough:
4 egg yolks
a pinch of salt
100 g (1/2 cup / 3.5 oz) fine sugar
120 g (1 stick and 1 tsp) melted butter
🍋 Zest of 1 lemon
300 g (1 cup and 1 tbsp) flour
10 g (2 tsp) baking powder
Cut off the dough and put it in the freezer for 15 minutes
Baking tin 20 cm
🧁 Cream:
700 g (3 1/3 cups / 25 oz) Greek yogurt
70 g (6 tbsp / 2.5 oz) cornstarch
1 tsp vanilla
4 egg whites
🍋 1 tbsp lemon juice
150 g (3/4 cup / 5.2 oz) sugar
Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C / 350°F for 50 minutes
Allow the cake to cool to room temperature before serving.
Powdered sugar (optional)

I love the look of this. I like how you folded the beaten egg whites into the other mixture, meaning you kept the air in the cake. Too many cooks stir in beaten egg whites which then defeats all the working with the whisk as the mixture goes flat again. This will be a delicious cake dessert for my grandchildren. Thank you 😊

I finally made this today + for anyone thinking about it, it’s more sour + tangy than expected. Its like *a sweet + sour lemon meringue flavored Angel food cake.*. Not my cup of tea but I should hv noticed that.

Good morning Berlin, baking looks as good as ever!! I think yoghurt is more healthy than the full cream cheese which is usually used. Enjoy a good day baking more delicious recipes keeping us all happy and trying out our own baking skills. Do you change the recipes to blend in with the autumn season, i.e. spice cakes/loaves, dried fruit cakes. That would be interesting as well. Have a super day, take care, kind regards.

120 грамм масла это слишком много. Вытопилось на противень. 80-90 грамм больше нельзя.

Most baking videos are slow w/quiet music but we can speed it up, turn off the volume + use less bowls. Mostly it’s for ASMR purposes. ALL baking videos use more equipment than we might at home but it’s for esthetics + cleanliness, which is quite literally the _opposite_ of “disgusting” (but *your comment* on the other hand… very rude).
