It is absolutely impossible to keep staring at your child 24/7. Everyone has to sleep, use the bathroom, you literally turn around to get something, they are GONE. He's 4 years old not 2. Huge difference, once they are four they get ideas, thoughts and off they go.

Of course people should keep an eye on their kids. Do you think these parents didn't?? Of course I did. It probably have several children and you're camping and you're getting stuff out of the car and you're doing all this stuff. I don't care how a great of a parent you are. I'm sorry I don't mean to be short with a person who broke this that I'm responding to but these parents have been through hell worrying about their child. They're great parents. They're bringing their children out into nature spending time with them. Please do not be critical. If you can't say something nice and this situation, I don't think you should come in at all. That's just my opinion...

teach your children this: If they look around and cant see you they need to stop moving and wait. If in a crowd, teach them to stop moving and step off to the side. It works. My son got out of sight of us on Disney Worlds main street. we went back and found him waiting off to the side but he was 7. Teach them to stop walking. They must stop, wait and yell. The STOPPING is key.

Judge less & care more! Don’t presume the parents didn’t/weren’t “watching/supervising” their child/ren. You can literally look away to sneeze, grab a tissue, and start mopping your nose and your child can be out of sight. If you call them and they don’t respond, which often they don’t because they are absorbed by something, you can literally haul off in the wrong direction and then miss them altogether. This little one was very close to where he disappeared - dozens & dozens looking for him, but no one even heard him until they were all but on top of him. Grateful the litttle one and his family are together and whole. Thank God🙏🏻

Kids do not know how to make decisions well which is why they need to be watched every second. He obviously is allowed to freely roam anywhere he wants at home so he didn't know any better at the campsite. I'm glad he is okay and hopefully the parents learned something in order to keep him safe as he continues to learn and grow.

I hope during this election year in particular that we remember this... That we are united together. Not always in every thought or opinion, but in our hearts and in our decency. We honor families be honor those that give of their time and effort to help others. Plus America. Thank you for our precious little Christian getting home to Mom and Dad and his siblings. Maybe we should put whistles around our kids next when they're little in the woods... I know I got separated from my dad a couple of times when I was young! ❤❤❤❤

They have their own mind at times and they are fast. I am betting he never disobeys the camping rules again. Consequences teach!
