Family Outraged 75-Year-Old Man Was Tased by Cops

An elderly man is fighting for his life after being tased by police. It started with a squabble between neighbors at an apartment building. Police were called, and 75-year-old Michael Clark answered his door. He was wearing just boxers, and was holding a sword. By the time the encounter was over, Clark had been tased. His outraged family says he suffered heart complications and a stroke 36 hours later.

This is all thanks to body cams that was the ultimate reason why he got caught and it caught him reaching for the sword and then planting it next to the old man to make it look like it was justified tai-zing him and then catching him snapping a picture of him planting the evidence was enough to convict the officer of wrong doing and that’s what led to him getting terminated

Well here's what I'm taking from this. When he had the weapon, he did indeed set it down, but that's not why they tased him. The reason they stayed away form the people hole and stayed on the side of the door (AKA Stacking up on the door) is because some people just refuse to open the door once they see cops and if he had a gun they would have been at risk of being shot through the door. Not that I'm saying the officer fired should be reinstated, but I'm also saying we can't immediately say he didn't have a reason to tase him. The reason I believe he tased the man was because you can hear in the footage them saying "On the ground" and when he said "No" he technically has committed a crime on it's own known as "Failure to Comply" and in the United States (Where Colorado is and where this took place) it is legal (Last I checked) to use non lethal weapons like a taser on someone who doesn't comply to commands. The reason the male officer I personally think might've taken the weapon out is because they don't really know if someone else is inside and ready to grab it and attack them, the reason he could've taken a photo of the man and the weapon in the same photo may have been to use less memory in his phone. Of course, I could be wrong, but so can you.

Them expecting an old man to just easily get down on the floor is a joke. They take the word of the person calling in and and treat the other person like a criminal without hearing the other person's side of the story. They knew their actions were wrong so they staged the scene. This is why people keep dying at the hands of the police.

I saw a similar incident where a cop was forced to tase an elderly woman for not complying and even fighting him physically and when the situation was under control the first thing he asked was if she was alright and if she was hurt and needed medical attention. These cops clearly did not care about this man’s wellbeing or even his life and took the easy way out. And on top of all that they planted evidence to try and make it seem as if it was self-defense. They have to secure the perpetrator or suspect and handcuff him to secure the safety of all, which is procedural before they check on his health. That is exactly what they did. If he was unconscious when the dragged him out of the apartment they couldn’t have known that unless they handcuffed him, secured the scene and then checked up on him, which is exactly what happened. The cop who brought out the toothed weapon had to do so to show evidence anyway, what does it matter where it was dropped?

This officer should be charged with attempted murder. He opened the door armed. This is because he is elderly. I'm in my sixties and any time someone bangs on my door late at night I answer the door armed because the assumption is the person who knocked is there for a home invasion. The elderly gentlemen disarmed himself the moment he realized it was the police. So now he is unarmed. There was no longer any reason for the police to attack him. Refusing to get down on the ground may seem reasonable to a cop but to an elderly person doing so can cause injury and most likely would be painful. It would be painful to me. I have arthritus and if I drop down to the ground I'm going to need an ambulance. Such a demand by police is unreasonable and probably illegal since the man had not committed any crimes at that point. Answering your door armed is not only not illegal it is your constitutional right. He is in his own home and unarmed so tasing him is assault with a deadly weapon. It's deadly because tasing anyone over sixty is very dangerous due to the high probability of damage to the heart. Tasing me would be the same as shooting me in the chest with a bullet. All law enforcement knows this. So tasing anyone who is obviously over sixty is the same as attempted murder. The officer who tased him should be charged with attempted murder. If he dies then 2nd degree murder. The officer who planted the evidence needs to go to prison for that. Any officers on scene who did attempt to arrest their fellow officers for those crimes need to lose those jobs and be investigated for conspiracy. This is a prime example of corruption in law enforcement.
