The Congregation of the Fathers of Mercy, which was founded in 1808, originally under the title of “The Missionaries of France.” The community was founded for the purpose of re-evangelizing the people of France after the Catholic Faith had been subjected to years of attacks and persecution during the French Revolution. It is now exclusively an American community. The Generalate of the Congregation is located in Auburn, Kentucky. The primary apostolate of the Fathers of Mercy is to conduct parish missions and retreats throughout the United States and other countries when called upon. The Congregation also staffs rural parishes in the Archdiocese of Louisville, Kentucky.

Thank you Father for living with your eyes wide open and stating FS is ambiguous. You know how to read between the lines. Catholic priests ALWAYS take time to confess, meet with and bless all who ask. However, no matter what the traitors in media say, MARRIAGE IS BETWEEN A MAN AND A WOMAN!

FS was a dagger in the heart of Holy Mother Church. FS said nothing about repentance and conversion. It serves only to divide us further. Only God can save us faithful on earth.

If the document did not intend to change anything in the church’s teachings then the document was not necessary at all since nothing has changed.

You are so right. And all the attempts to clean up after this fiasco is even more damning. No to all of it. What do you think it does to those men and women that are a part of the COURAGE organization? They have been hung out to dry! Again no to it and the defense of it. So proud of the African bishops that aren’t afraid to speak clearly and not try to white wash this. That is being forced down the throat of people of God that desire to live in holiness. I cannot say yay to a honey coated homily when the core goes against all that is truly Catholic. Holy Roman Catholic Church…where are you?

Good homily. Thank you for your input on FS. I've read the document and didn't find it confusing, unlike the media that takes half a sentence and twists it out of its context. FS to me reinforces what marriage is and isn't. It's extending an olive branch to those living in sin and struggling with SSA to be graced with Gods love and mercy to move away from sin, not affirm their status or sin. Many catholic brothers and sisters forget that, yes God wants us to be saved on his terms, God is love and everyone needs to know that they are loved first before they move to repentance.

Thank you for your homily. As far as FS goes, in my opinion, I understand that the intentions are good but I predict a very very bad outcome. I have seen a homosexual on the news say that he was happy with FS because now he (or rather his lifestyle) is accepted by the church whereby before he didn't feel accepted by the church. Excuse me, but it is the homosexual who is rejecting God and the church and not the other way around. The FS is not necessary as God has never abandoned an open heart. SS couples are seeing this as a step forward towards the church accepting them and their lifestyle. Now after this FS, we're going to see homosexual laity in church brazenly displaying inappropriate affection (kisses, hand holding) during the mass. Trusting in Jesus means to be obedient to the church's teaching. Love for God requires a sacrifice. Love means to give up sinful desire and submit to God's will. I was engaged to a man in 2010 and we had money invested in the wedding. When we went to the priest to schedule the wedding, the priest told us that he needed an annulment. He was enraged and refused to annul his marriage. I refused to marry him outside of the church and we broke up shortly after the priest told us. Not only did this devastate me but it was a significant financial loss. My whole life was a train wreck but being ex communicated and being barred from the Eucharist was not something that I could do for anyone. I put my trust in Jesus because I knew that His plan for my life is the right path. Can we run from God? No, we cannot. Jesus, I trust in you ❤

@MrsAngelala Yes, it was. Let me elaborate a little bit more if I may. We were living together because I was going through a very hard time financially and had no place to go at the time. We agreed to hold off until the wedding as we both wanted to live as Catholics. Then, after I refused to marry him, he kicked me out. I lived indigent from 2010 to 2016. I clung to my faith and refused to reconcile with my ex fiance. I suffered terribly in those days with financial hardship. To be honest, I am not really a pious Catholic. I consider myself to be a repenant sinner. I turned away from this man as a result of a strange dream that I had the week before we went to the priest. I dreamt that my fiance and I were in the church where we were going to be married. This happened in December 2010. The church was dim, and we were in the pew. No one else was in the church. So, I look at the altar, and no priest was there. Instead, Jesus was there looking at my ex fiance and I. His face looked like Jesus in the Shroud of Turin. The altar was glowing, and Jesus was wearing a green robe with yellow stars. Golden rays were coming out of the stars. He was smiling, and his arms were stretched out for us to come up to receive Him. We didn't go up there but remained kneeling, and then I woke up. I was a bit taken back, having a very vivid dream like that. The very next week, we received the news that he needed an annulment. I told my ex, "I can't marry you without it." He understood but then kicked me out. Luckily, I found a place to go, and God took care of me all these years. I cried a thousand tears, but when a human being receives a blessing in a dream to witness the almighty God looking at you smiling, how could I turn away from my faith? To be clear, it was a dream while I was asleep. I was not awake. However, my God, it was the most beautiful dream that I ever had. Jesus never spoke in my dream, but His body language said it all. Come and receive. These fools don't get it. You can not run from the Lord. The Lord has never closed His heart nor His love to a sincere heart. Jesus said, "If you love me, you will keep my commandments." These don't want to live as Catholics. These people want to live as they wish. They want God to accept their way, their lifestyle, their unholiness. It's the same with those who support abortion and profess to be Catholic. It is simply impossible. I will never accept it.

Where did you come across this claim? Was it during or after the Year of St. Joseph? Asking because I've never heard it before as part of Church tradition (it certainly isn't in the Gospels) or as a hypothesis. Judas stood side by side with Our Lord and still committed many personal sins.

@@isaiah3872 I have heard this through a few theologians and believe it to be true. Know that it is just speculative theology but something we can believe to be true. I believe Joseph and John the Baptist to have never personally sinned although they had imperfections and were subject to death and disease because they both still had the effects of original sin.

that document will be another Amoris laetitia style document. yes its not binding because that document not only spits in the face of tradition, it spits on definitions set out by the Church. But that the point. its meant to soften and erode the defintions and traditions of the church is it not? How is that not evil?
