It's not like this is a common occurrence, and funnel-webs are easy enough to capture anyway given their poor mobility. The idea of Australia being chock-full of deadly spiders is almost entirely media hype.

Deaths in Australia by animals from 2001 - 2017: 172 - Horses 82 - Cows/bulls 53 - Dogs 37 - Snakes 37 - Kangaroos (but all as a result of a vehicle incident) 31 - Bees (but all as a result of anaphylactic shock ie. allergic reaction) 27 - Sharks 21 - Crocodiles 0 - Spiders So don't come to Australia if you're scared of horses.

Clearly staged….there’s both a male and a female FWS in this video, and one spider is not an invasion 😂

Yep the reptile park unfortunately capitalizes on dramatisation and staged videos unfortunately perpetuating fear. For a group that is supposedly about educating the public, they sure do it the wrong way in this regard.
