Their speed is just incredible... At 1:50 it takes a total of four frames for the little guy to extend all the way out of its burrow and back inside. Absolutely insane.

It's AI is a bit buggy when it's too far away from its trigger area, it may not aggro the player unless it is attacked first, and even then it may try to go back to its spawn zone instead or simply flee the battle.

What a beautiful spider

Their speed and commitment when striking is astonishing. I saw trapdoors at the Arizona border at a rest stop. I got out of my car to stretch my legs and walk around a bit, not thirty feet off the pavement, out of the corner of my eye, I saw a small circular patch of desert earth popping up and down, and I knew what it was instantly.

Due to house renovation , my son's little friends Tarantulas are lodging in my bedroom without paying any rent . Since childhood I am petrified of spiders . The tarantula , a Mexican pink has legs as long as 4 inches already , currently shredding her skin . She is fast and scary , I named her the bitch . The other tarantula is much slower and seems docile , but I am still scared of them .

In London, UK ive seen similar behaviour exhibited from far smaller spiders living in holes in my garden's old brick wall. The tiny holes have a tube of webbing inside that pretrudes to the outside just like these trapdoor spiders. Last summer I noticed a spider will come rushing out to investigate if I touch the webbing with a tiny stick or blade of grass like in this video.

Amazing spiders. I remember seeing a video how they make those burrows and the trap door. Takes them SO long, fair play to how patient they are. Around the 4 minute mark, that spider was probably getting proper pissed off at the one prodding and raising the trap door. Shouldn't disturb them as much as that. The music's odd too, but I like it.
