What a moron, Brian didn't ask Stewie to do shit, he was just honest with him and acknowledged that Stewie will always be better at the one thing Brian spent his life chasing. He just expressed how much it sucks that he will be forced to live his short lifespan in the shadow of his friend greatness. Stewie did what he did out of his own free will because he cares more about helping Brian enjoy the life he has than overshadowing his best friend with his innate talent

I think it’s an honest thought that believe it or not a lot of people feel that they just don’t want to admit sometimes. Everyone wants to feel special I don’t care who you are. It’s definitely selfish to not want someone else succeed where you couldn’t but it’s definitely realistic to life.

Close minded fool, its been already established for a long time that Stewie is a prodigy, a genius and better than Brian when it comes to smarts and creativity. The point of the scene and the episode was to show that despite all of that, Stewie prefers to renounce all the recognition he could otherwise get for his innate talent in order to not overshadow his best friend and make him feel like crap as a result, because he cares more about Brian enjoying the short life he has than being praised and taking the spotlight. Also, Brian kinda deserved to be brought down a bit because he started acting like a douche and condescending when his play was praised in Quahog, and laughed at Stewie for thinking he could write a play like him, which is also part of it

For Brian, the lowest common denominator is the easiest public to please. And I'm sure he'd be fine being a mediocre writer, as long as people like his work. That's why being a success in Quahog is the most he'll ever accomplish. Also, if he wants to be shown some respect outside Quahog, he should at least be honest about the quality of his work, and stop pretending he's a big shot.
