Taboo is my shit! I just enjoy reading about really dark, twisted, fucked up, taboo stories. I can usually read anything and everything. It doesn't mean I support all this in real life. I just enjoy it for it is and it's fiction at the end of the day. Great recs tho! I've already read Wild by K.Webster...loved it.

In some cultures,(including mine) the girls get arranged married to thier 1) mother's elder/younger brother. 2) father's sister's son. (One of my friend is married such) It is considered allowed.

Stranton Adore sounds interesting. Did you know in some cultures it's completely okay to marry one's cousin? It's not considered incest. As long as they don't share a parent.

If you want more then I suggest ya'll check out the author Seven Rue. She has several that fall under this trope. Also, I think QB Tyler and Danielle James has a few that fit this trope. Also, there's a book called Pretty, Dark and Dirty by Margot Scott that's father/daughter. And another by Shannon Youngblood called Unmasked that I think fits here.

In the Jewish religion 1st cousins are allowed bc we are a small minority. Me and my cousin had a small fling as teens, but didn't cross to no return. The whole family saw the attraction and the good connection between us. Eventually we each moved on. He became an Orthodox Jew, married with 6 kids l am an agnostic Jew. Divorced with no kids. It would've never have worked.

Even though I have limits for what I read of the taboo romance sub-genre, it doesn't appear I have them. Setting aside the taboo aspects if they become to much, I can still enjoy a novel. I've read The Wild by K. Webster and a lot of dark romances by Rory Ireland and Tate Monroe (Pandemonium being my favorite), and they were dark and intense, whereas other books I've set aside have been way too much for any sort of comfort.

Hi I'm a new fan- I only discovered you a few weeks ago and I'm loving all of your talks… I was just curious because I didn't hear you give a shout out to the VC Andrews books people as old as me read as a teen in the 80s… Maybe it's been covered - I have alot of your videos to catch up on - I'm very over the hill, I was just curious if you've aired your thoughts on that series… My interests- and my own writings - have grown more dark and taboo as an adult :-)

@@TheBookRefuge Wow now I really feel like a dinosaur from the ice age :-)… I think flowers in the attic was the first book in her first series, I read them all but as usual the book is better than the sequels and definitely better than the movie… It seemed so taboo when I was a YA reading these books… Flowers in the attic starts with a mom who basically locks her kids in a room in the grandmothers house and their only escape is the attic - The two older siblings take on parental roles to take care of the younger ones … While going through their own adolescence. I'm amazed by the abundance of every genre of romance novel and I love your reviews… I guess it's not a surprise that VC Andrews fell into the dustbin :-)

As a doctor having seen mostly genetic disorders and just living in a country where marrying cousins or uncles is not wrong. I can tell you the problem is real. The kid’s life is ruined because it wasn’t the kid’s fault but rather the parents’ fault. it breaks my heart to see kids from direct incest as in between brother sister and father daughter or son and mother because those are the ones that produce disabilities that really hurt the kids. Also a lot of crimes that come out of it are really scary.

Hello. How are you? So I'm new to the channel and was wondering if anyone could give me some recommendations. I love taboo romance books, especially teacher-student and family romances, as the title says. I'd like to know a few more, but a little specific: I can't find any books where the "older person" is a woman, be it incest with a stepmother (even a mother herself), or a female teacher. Anyone who can give me some recommendations, I would greatly appreciate it!

Just a crazy weird thing I once read, there is actually something that is called familiar attractions so the scenario could be you meet your half brother that you didn’t know about because you dad had affairs or you are both had the same sperm doner etc. or you meet your unknown dad because he donated sperm when he was in college, you will be attracted to that person. Because something that stops us from having this attraction is proximity and knowing who that person is, and the attached memories. The proximity thing is also a reason why couples have less sex the longer they are together.
