My thoughts are... every time PTS users report great things to us console players, Beth nerfs it. Example: Explosive Peppershaker. The end Ya still get a 👍

@@TYRYT You sure? I know they "fixed" the gauss shotgun making it actually weaker... but I've tried it with does changes and still does poopy damage to bosses regardless.

am glad they made this new fix for these guns as i would like to do a solo queen in my p,w but it wasnt fun due to flying but now it be fun for me thanks for making this video love the content keep it up

Thank you for the video TYR. I've been waiting for a comment from a content creator like you on the matter since I used my Gauss Minigun against a normal scorchbeast and saw 2 damage Numbers on PTS. I think there should be a deadline now. They either fix the legacy problem or they remove them completely at the end of the deadline.

I highly doubt they will remove the legacy’s but I could see less damage and stuff

My favorite part of this video isn't you making a more and more likely point of legacies being fixed/removed but rather the B footage of you looking around for the missing stash crate for a repair kit. Brilliant work Bugthesda, these moments are some of the most infuriating and hilarious at the same time.

Yeah!

Hopefully they've been fixing the energy weapon damage calculation and the explosive radius issue, so that when they fix the bug that allows legacy explosive weapons to be so ludicrous the people with legacies won't be able to claim that anything about the change is unfair.

I dont know if its possible but I see only way to "fix" legacies is bethesda to make script or code that allows delete certain items with certain effects. When they buff or nerf stuff it will be always have impact for other stuff also. I have legacies on my account and tbh I wouldnt feel so bad if they all would be removed. At this point, yes I like to have them, since vats is so laggy atm I dont even vant to play on my commando vats build character what I used to do, instead I do play on my main, farm caps and gear, do events with legacies but im not spraying everything to death and ruin other players experience. All the rubber banding and issues on vats, shot registering + server lag made me to roll enclave sniper after latest patch and I rly like to play with rifleman build character. I have been playing game since wastelanders upldate and every time bethesda has messed something up which has had effect on my gameplay, I have just changed builds or made new character. Atm theres not really much to do for me on game than farming rarest stuff, dailies, rolling perfect stuff etc. I rly enjoy the game even lack of its end game content and really looking foward this year and future updates with Double even.

I don't get mad over fallout 76 anymore. I don't think they will nerf legacies, I think more people will buy them now.

I have a charecter that is setup for my 2 shot auto grenade launcher and honestly its doing massive amounts of damage .

Has the energy weapon buff gone through yet? Have a legacy cryolator I’m curious to test out

Somenthing i would like is if Bethesda announce a Big Update just like Wastelanders. For me it should be only about Bug Fixes and Engine Tweaks, fixes and Upgrades. Im tired the always with any expasion they release, always break something that never was broke or was fix it and then broke it again.

I know this is an older post but I feel that with the pitt coming it makes a perfect opportunity for these weapons to shine. I just wish players with these weapons would use a bit more restraint in public lobbies when it comes to the queen event . I've been to 3 different queen events today and she was dead before I could get any hits in . And lower levels players are getting frustrated . But like I said I think the pitt update will be a perfect opportunity for these . Just my opinion though .

@@TYRYT its strange how in 20% headshots crits on my exp med railway rifle actually works. When im aiming torso its prox even more often. But on daily ops its bugged even more😂

I hope you're right and they'll fix legacies soon. They are fun to use from time to time when playing solo and sometimes rescue events when other players don't have propper builds or are lowlevel. But some kiddos ruin public events on public worlds by using them without a need to. Some argue that a bunch of players will leave the game if they get fixed or removed but i'm pretty sure the same amount of players will rejoin for the same reason. On the other side, i have the strong feeling due to several issues that the devs don't understand their own ingame mechanics in full detail or at least they don't care about. And they set wrong priorities and this is a good example. First they should fix legacies, then fix the explosive hitboxes.

The order of the fixes makes sense if they are taking player statements into account. Do things that buff everything first so the perceived “need” for Legacies is lessened, then bring in the nerf bat. Nerf first, buff second brings out all the comments about “the fun police ruining the game”. The devs have to take the most vocal into account to try to mitigate bad word of mouth that could derail their plans.

@@reggie1025 I get your point and it's valid to me when it comes to everything else than legacies and explosive effect. I don't know if players are happy about their (in the past heavily nerfed) explosive handmade working as intended now when meanwhile childish users benefiting from the same fix ruin the gaming experience with their untouched legacy even more 😅 And i'm not sure if Bethesda should listen to the loudest users who use illegaly dupped stuff in a non responsible way.

@@reggie1025 Its not the direct impact damage that makes legacies overpowered, its that the explosive damage multiplies because the weapon uses energy or flame damage. Its more of a glitch than balancing so nerfing the damage of these legacies won't actually do much if its just gonna multiply the damage even after the nerf.

i think the best way to fix legacies would be to introduce a new legendary effect for energy weapons that emits a pulse of energy on impact. this way energy weapons would have a similar effect to explosive projectiles but bethesda could better tune how much damage it does and so on. all existing legacies could then be converted to the new effect and thus they would still be useful for the owner, but just balanced. and it would also be possible for others to get such weapons through normal gameplay.

The otherday i had 2 guys on the same team using E gat plasma's. In radrumble the rest of us could hardly get a hit or a kill on any of the enemies, and same story for all other events taking place in that session,it was apaernt that other players were enoyed with these 2 but they seem to have the time of their life ruining the gameplay for the rest of us. This has to end they ruin the game!

you do realize that a full bloodied glass cannon build with gun fu and ultra light armor with ap refresh is even worse right? I've got a few friends that clear rad rumble room before I even have the chance to spool up my gattling plasma, next everyone will be complaining about that, you just don't realize this because you can't hear their guns among all the explosions. Theres always something someone complains about on bethesda we might as well run around with wooden boards and hit enemies with it. There's replacements for legacies in game that are way way worse, only reason why people complain about legacies is because they stick out like a sore thumb when you fire them so it's the first thing you notice. I've watched my one friend kill end game bosses in 30 seconds with no exploits just a quad railway rifle 50 crits.

@@sweetgee9589 Exactly my point, if you know how to create a good build legacies just become obsolete, like dont get me wrong I love my legacies for the cool factor but other than that its not that OP, usually the people complaining only have a few hundred hours in game and don't really understand how to make a good build or just are higher levels who cant understand how to make a good build, hell when I was level 400 I was correcting builds for a few friends who were around level 1200 and I doubled their damage on their weapons simply by taking their guns and armor and tweaking a few things and moving some cards around and mutations, since I've run out of things to do in game I love helping people with their builds, I also throw in a full set of ultracite power armor with calibrated legs and jet pack

@@itjustworks7386 30 sec huh wow that is realy realy umm Slow,i have a clip with killing earl in 8 sec and i have seen him killed in less then 2 sec and you have the low lvl tesla that 1taps Earl so what, that should also not be in the game? You argue that weapon that should not be in the game ehh should be in the game because you have a friend of a friend who can do this and that you argue that mechanics that break the game shoud be here when they are faults that should be corrected for everybodys better it doesnt make sense.

Will this change make the Gauss Shotgun actually viable in boss fights? And the inevitability of legacy weapons getting nerfed is why I refuse to trade half my stash box for one. EDIT: Tested my Q/50V/25AP Gauss Shotgun against Queen Barbara and it wasn't that bad. Not the best in the world by any stretch of the imagination but not bad nonetheless. It was great at keeping her landed and ripping and tearing through all of her spawns though so it'll work really well with teammates.

@@involuntarysoul3867 Where are you getting $6 from because the cheapest I'm seeing is $15. And just for the record I only looked out of curiosity and have no intentions of spending real money on a shady p2p site for something that will most likely get nerfed anyway.

They call it "Old World Blues" people so caught up with how legacys used to be. With out seeing the future for them let alone the present with out them

Thanks for this, Tyr. I might have new uses for those Explosive Fixers and Handmades I've been keeping. My AAE .50 cal and minigun will be more fun now. But at the end of the day, you can only laugh and play the Benny Hill theme music. No matter how much regular weapons get buffed, if the Legacy Weapons receive the same buff, or better (and let's face it, they are getting better buffs because not only is explosive now working properly. but energy damage was fixed giving them that buff), the game will remain horribly unbalanced. #GiveLegaciesToAll I say. Break the system! XD (EDIT: Just finished listening to the whole video. I hope you're right. I genuinely do. But I think this will be a 3+ year journey.)

I always wanted legacy guns to be fixed, because they remove the need for a build and minmaxing is one of the things I simply enjoy in RPGs, legacy guns need demo expert and thats the build, this makes the game even more boring for me so I try not to use them which is another thing I dont like: limiting myself. They are bugged, they need to be fixed, thats it. The problem is, that beth has kept them in the game for years and even buffed them and so they have become a legit kind of weapon, now its too late IMHO to say, hey we fixed this bug, now they work normally, another bug fixed, praise us. People invested too much time and money into them. So they have to compensate the owners in a way. My suggestion as alwas: A legacy exchange machine. They fix them, we drop them into the machine and get one legit item of our choice back. I would take uny/ap/sent SS pieces and would love it. :)

The one that should be compensated are the people that don't use legacy weps. In 2 years and 1.5k hours game time Im maybe behind hundreds legendary monsters kills (stolen from legacy "masters") and maybe at least 20-30 levels behind (stolen kills by legacy "masters").

I‘m not quite sure if the guys at Bethesda use logic while working on F76. And further more I don’t think they have a plan to fix the legacy weapons. I hope they correct me but the fact that the legacies are still working speaks otherwise. I really, really hope you are right TYR.

I was thinking the exact same while reading your comment. I am sure that Bethesda is well aware that there is a market for such weapons and people really like to grind for such wepaons after they have completed most of the in game missions. It takes Bethesda months to fix bugs and introduce new content to the game. So in a way legacy grind keeps players into the game. Maybe they would fix it or maybe not. But one thing I am sure is that they won't do it anytime soon.

The only legacy I have is a tse flamer and it is ridiculous how far the projectiles reach, I can literally snipe with it. Sniping…with a flamer. Is beyond dumb. I acquired it from a player vendor when I was level 512 so I am way more used to normal builds and weapons than legacy’s. I have never had the opportunity to use an exploding laser or Gatling. I can’t even imagine how stupid it would feel as the tse flamer shreds everything so easily. I will be happy to see all legacy’s nerfed to the ground and am thrilled with the recent changes to make the weapons work properly, especially crit damage on explosives! This game in general is easy, there really is no need for such over powered weapons to exist. It is fun to dip into fallout 4 with an explosive energy weapon where you can have fun - but not ruin peoples experiences. This is what it comes down too, the legacy’s have been a shit stain on fo76 ever since they appeared and the game will definatly be far better without them. If you need to learn to make good builds, Tyr has guides for that as well as Angry turtle. No excuses anymore, man up and let go !

I hope they really do just fix em tbh, I have a few really good ones and I wouldn't want them deleted. I got them through playing the game and not some ham headed idiot buying pixels in a market lol. Vamp plasma, with EE, 25FFR and i think 1 str. It not gonna break me either way just thinking out loud tbh. I got a good TYR build going so ill be happy no matter how the hammer falls

Really looking forward to the update, As my Medics Explosive Laser Rifle will now be OP 😂...So I can be I viable team mate and help take down the Queen / Earl allot easier 👌🏻 but I definitely think legacy plasmas will make the boss fights unenjoyable until the legacies get balanced... I really hope they don't take the easy option and just remove legacies... Considering they already know exactly what they have to modify to balance the legacies...they purely have just put it on the back burner....

I have a hacked gun, my God roll fixer fits my playstyle and kills things faster.

So in the time its taken to fix the explosive damage bug, Ive completed the whole game, every quest, every mission, bought every plan, 99% of every loot pool, everything... The game is dead, the Brahmin Milked for every last scrap of content and the "Lagacy" (By which you mean cheated and bought for real money from outside the game suppliers) I.e. Explosive Gatling Plasma is only making playing the game any further a waste of time, as the only way to make my Lv 500 Character any more powerful is to do the same.

Be awesome if they do fix Legacy weapons. Totally over th knobs that rock up with shit builds and smash the Boss fights in 30 seconds with their crutch toys.

I have nothing against people using legacies in private servers but unfortunately it's just not like that..Way past time for them to get changed , not deleted, just changed, then reintroduced to the drop pool

@@TYRYT It’s an educated guess but a guess nonetheless. There are still other non legacy weapons that are just as, and even more, powerful so we’ll see how it all plays out. Regardless, I’ve enjoyed my legacies and Fo76 so if everything’s nerfed into the ground I’ll just go play elden ring and eventually starfield.

@@ElValuador crits are being adjusted and high ROF weapons as well. Total rebalance is speculated to be incoming. And that’s a very educated guess. The game will be fa healthier without legacies, if people stop playing then that’s fine - I’m sure a lot of players will also come back once it’s fixed

Only took 3 years..

The fact that they are working backwards is what bothers me most. Buff energy damage inadvertently by fixing the formula. Then fixing explosive radius when legacy damage is based off explosive bullets. The nerf may be incoming, but it's a crap way to beat around the bush. All legacy dragon users will have a field day. But is the Ammo glitch patched? No. Will they hotfix anything once they see the player base is not enjoying this? Probably not. Personally believe all bosses should just be Immune to explosive damage and call it that. I've used every gun and every build. Don't think missile launchers, grenade launchers, etc should specialize in boss killing. They are AoE and should enjoy that specialty. I have one of every legacy type and believe that they do have a place. But PvP and boss killing should definitely not be it.

They'll patch legacies but 76 best days are behind it imo. So it's a day late and a dollar short.

With all the nerfs over the years (and little in the way of buffs) like the damage calculation change, if they removed or nerfed legacies into the ground, queen and Earle fights could very well go back up to 20-30 minuets I get all the legacy hate but there is a reason people like them so much, so they don’t have to shoot a ghoul 7000 times to kill it “just get a better build” with the Fucking horrendous RNG in this game? Sure thing.

This is entirely incorrect mate. As you saw in this very video, legacies are not much help against bosses. Legacies aren’t a driving factor in why bosses are easy to kill (but they will be once this change goes through) bosses are dying so quick these days because of optimised stealth commandos and mag glitched weaponry. That’s it. And as for your other point no, bloodied will not see a nerf, there’s no need for it. The only possible outcome in the future is a total rebalance where certain weapon classes have their base damage increased and perks have damage increased and then effects that are less desirable will be buffed. I see buffs on the horizon after legacies get fixed not more nerfs

Bloodied uny is kind of ok the way it is, i think they should just buff full health to be competitive to it. And i want berserkers to be the new dps meta as a reward for running the most squishy and uncomfortable build 😅

No legacies can kill a boss faster than a crit railway

Hear me out, someone in Bethesda is making legacy weapons and selling them in does shady pages for real $$$, it's just ridiculous how the weapons keep spawning and Bethesda is doing nothing but buffing the shit out of them while weapons like the flamer remain ignored since day 1. I don't have evidence of this happening nor there's someone providing me with this knowledge, I'm just giving my thoughts here but you gotta admit it's pretty suspicious that specifically of all the buffs that they are adding, nothing come close to the buffs they are giving to the legacies.

Now I dont have any confirmation, nor do I have any insider knowledge. But I swear to you Tyr and everyone reading this comment. This is literally some dev on D11 studios that actually has played F76 for years, and as soon as he got his hands on the code, he went like: ohhh baby, ima fix this nonesense real quick. Cuz bethesda never touched any of the weapons no matter how much we complained, and yet here comes along D11, and now we are suddenly getting these types of corrections (such as the energy weapon/explosive radius/ explosive crit/crit improvements).

Why would Bethesda “fix” a legacy weapon after fixing something that negatively impacted all weapons? Weren’t legacies added to the game to operate a certain way? It sounds like they will be operating at their full potential now. 🤷‍♂️

they fixed the explosive damage because it was broke on all large enemies with all explosive weapons, not just legacies, making any weapon with an explosive roll hard to use on sbq or earle. they didn't do this to directly buff legacies, they were just fixing a bug with a legendary effect, and just accidentally buffed legacies as a result

I have a bloodied explo gatling plasma I used because I currently don’t have a good weapon like a gauss minigun until I can get one I’ll be using my legacy

it's scary that they change that without fixing legacy damage, it's really frustrating to trigger a nuke and the boss is killed in 2 seconds... it's already often the case now, and it will be worse ... I hope that the legacy damage will be quickly fixed, and that they can also do something against hacked weapons (?)

Can I ask why you seem upset towards the end of the video with others playing the game the way they want to? Whatever devs decide to do with legacies is what it is. Personally i wouldn't ever throw some under handed shade at someone just for playing a game or using their own cash the way they choose though.

big misconception that legacy ruin boss fights, it is actually mob fights like RR they ruin. vats crit railway build is what you should worry about in a boss fight, better get your damage in fast

50? They were selling like hotcakes for 250.00 a piece at times in between duplication glitches but I've also seen as low as 10.00 , there are countless people who made over 100,000$ off of them over the course of the games lifespan. All this goes on and bethesda doesn't do a thing about it.

Legacies have never been debuffed. You’re probably experiencing what I shown in this video, the explosions don’t hit the target currently for lager enemies in the live game

Dude put your critical thinking hat on, this game is on life support and you think they will nerf the most coveted weapons after nerfing everything else even if that would make a good chunk of the few remaining souls in the commuinity leave forever?

Uno reversal, put yours on - they are fixing everything. Including the greatest problem this game has, legacies. I have many legacies and will not leave once the are fixed

@@TYRYT and you activated my trap card, i don't even have that many and i'm selling all of my shit on g2g the moment they update them on the pts. plus you make money out of this game and you are THE authority when it comes f76 knowledge so nobody expects you to leave unless todd screws with you personally. also i used the words "a good chunk" didn't i?. my last argument is that after nerfing absolutely anything they buff energy weapons and soon after they buff explosive weapons. at the cost of sounding q-anonish it seems to me that they want to use the concept of finally getting a legacy to make new players stick around since looking for a better weapon is all that's left to do after playing 76 for a two hours a day in a month. this said i'm a huge fan and i would've quit this game a long time ago if it wasn't for guys like you,cpt.noob and femos, but man "i will not leave once the are fixed" is everything but a solid answer

I would say they are fixed on the pts atm with this. they just need to put them back in the loot pool.

It's just about time for these "legacy" weapons to be fixed.

Just add the chance for every legendary enemy to spawn as a “legacy” enemy that can drop a legacy weapon. That way they can be reintroduced to the game and everyone has a fair chance to get legacies. Removing them would be stupid at this point. The game is dying and people would rather play a game where everything is OP and fun to use rather then having everything nerfed. People complain that legacies are all anyone uses but if you remove them then nobody is going to use anything except fixers and handmades. Gatling plasmas, Gatling lasers and laser rifles are all pretty terrible if they aren’t legacy.

Yeah I quit fo76, the game is no longer a survival game and now is a karen simulator. If you complain enough you get what you want and bugthesda ignores the major bugs and glitches.

I’ve gotta disagree mate, they are very common due to dupes, if they get fixed there’s no reason for them to remain outside the drop pool, they are just like every other weapon in the game. Fix them and bring them back for all to acquire 😉

They should bring them back…I’m the nob that spends his real money on them..I think that’s the only way to defeat the ridiculous secondary market yes removing them would work too but would they really? I think it would be easier for them to just bring them back

Buff this Nerf that, when does it end? It´s Bethesda, i dont have high hopes for them... It seems that they only fix things that effects PVP crybabies.. I dont do pvp in fallout, there are way better games for that.

@@TYRYT Nowhere.. To me it seems like that.. Didn´t they start nerfing things once people started bitching about some guns that killed you too fast on pvp? Why are they changing things constanly? Not once did i have OP build in 76. Every time i shoot an enemy with so called op build the enemys heath goes to zero and then back to full, could do that couple of times in a row.. So i really dont understand why they are nerfing and buffing things.. I figured that maybe some pvp players started bitching about it or something.. I was happy that the magazine glitch worked the last time i was playing but now they fixed it and it wont work anymore.. That was the only fun thing in the game for me, at least i did some damage.. The game just dont work so why are they buffing and nerfing things? Care to explain that to idiot like me?

Balancing is the constant that all mmos and mmo like games can guarantee will exist, the only thing that is certain is that metas change and nerfs will be had as well as buffs. Nothing is static. So I’m not sure where you got the idea that it was. To address your other query about pvp being the reason nerfs take place… no. Pvp is not the reason for anything in fact. Bethesda actively avoid making updates for the pvp players in this game and that whole part of the game is so starved for content and balance it’s ridiculous. As for the stuff you’ve said, that’s entirely anecdotal and one sided, I could just as easily point you to my very own videos where I am indeed very very powerful and have killed Earle in 0.3 seconds amongst other powerful feats of strength within the game. So if I were to explain this to an idiot “like you” I’d say chill out and do some research instead of making outlandish claims.

They need to fix them they ruin events

So maybe this could be the reason of why the game still don't have active PvP, and many of the mayor fixes/tweaks/changes are to the combat overall. Energy/elemental weapon doing the correct damage, the whole critical re-calculation and Now the explosives FINALLY (i think) after of dozens patches relate to fixing and buffing it, now is more viable than ever. Maybe for the Next year or the 2024 Bethesda with help of Seven Eleven could bring a Real PvP server once and for all.

PvP is broken mainly due to hacked PA, hacked apparel items, aid spam, special and armour stacking. Fixing legacies will not fix pvp as well. I only can imagine a functional pvp with an arena mechanic which disables player's gear and offering balanced weaponry and armory.

Pvp is a shitshow fixing legacies is a good first step to creating a better environment and it lowers the ceiling for damage and lowers the barrier of entry for newer pvp players. Further changes need to be made but legacies being fixed is a great first step nonetheless

leave the legacy aside and find some challenge ✌️

yea not sure where that way going man, i have 2 legacies and slot of other weird ass guns and can effectively mow fallout 7 to the dirt lol. Thats with a full health build as well lol. Only challenge i found in this game was lv 1-25, after that it got easy to me anyway. not a jab at you or anyone else that feel that way. Just my two cents
